Luckily for Max, he didn’t lose any points cause of this penalty. And ig just to be safe GP reminded Max about the Pit Exit white line TWICE in Canada which was kinda funny to me 😭

Aaanyway this is probably the first time I’m this excited for Monaco. Feels like it’s gonna be a good weekend 🤞🇲🇨
Let’s see how it goes.

Both the Safety car leaders in 2022 and 2024 went on to win their races but Charles managed to not just lose his podium but finish in fkin P8 after the penalty 🥸
Just a random stat not that Charles is unlucky asf and borderline cursed or anything…

Another interesting detail is that when Max did a 360 and saved a spin in Hungary 2022, he did the exact same thing there too.
That spin was also at a pretty low speed (108 KMPH) and you’ll hear the same revs spiking right after his rear steps out. There’s Telemetry data available to support this too. Forgot to mention this while recording 😅

Anyway the RedBull upgrades worked and his pace is back so 🕺🏻 Canada can’t come any sooner.

Also the Telemetry overlay that I animated in this reel is not from official data by any means. I completely ignored what he might be doing with his brakes cause there’s just no way to know. Lap 1 Telemetry is rarely (never in my experience) available publicly so I had to interpret the onboard engine sounds to map what he’s doing with the throttle. I tried to make it as accurate as possible but it could’ve been a single blip or multiple jabs at the pedal so take the exact Throttle inputs with a pinch of salt 🤧

The 2021 season is filled with What-ifs and this is imo the biggest one. What If Lewis actually made it through into P1 and won that race? Thanks to some Magic, guess we’ll never know 🤧

The amount of Bad luck that plagued Max in 2021 was honestly baffling. If it weren’t for incidents like this (Hungary and Britain included) we probably wouldn’t have had the chance to witness the insaneee final race in Abu Dhabi, but I’m kinda glad it played out the way it did.

It’s actually the second time Mercedes used the this exact same strategy on RedBull to sn**ch a win away from them. The first time was all the way back in Hungary 2019, and the similarity is insaneee hah.

Anyway a few races later, RedBull manage to pull off something very similar. If you know which race I’m talking about… Lemme know in the comments 👀(I’ll be covering that race too later on in the series)

Btw Lewis got his 100th Pole this weekend, the previous episode was about that milestone and I’ve linked that reel so check it out.
