The title Assimulation is a play on words suggesting both the simulated world of AI and the idea of being subsumed by the technological changes we face today as image makers.

“Our film touches on the idea of simulation but also the idea of being assimilated by technology. As image makers, one of our fears is that our talent becomes irrelevant or that we may decide we exist better as transhumans, with an identity that would be technology-based rather than biological.” Writes Les Garçons.

"In Xeno In Vivo (2024), a multimedia performance spanning live opera, an original score, documentary film, and ceramic sculpture that premiered at the Exploratorium in San Francisco, artist Heather Dewey-Hagborg bears witness to the clinically fleshy world of the xenotransplantation lab (farm?). Thousands of clones everyday, the quartet bellows as the documentary projected behind them flashes images of pigs being measured, injected, and petted by their human handlers." Writes Hannah Scott on Heather Dewey-Hagborg's multimedia opera 'Xeno in Vivo.'

"There are no right or wrong answers to be found in Brathwaite-Shirley’s expanding body of work. Instead, these games, archives, and narratives call out the importance and a greater need for reflection on our own individual and societal beliefs, experiences, and modes of being that very much shape and impact the world around us. " Writes Lyndsey Walsh on Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley's practice.

In the beginning, there was nothing really I expected, just to be independent —composer and producer David August reflects on the record label and artistic platform 99CHANTS that he founded in 2018 and has since been oscillating between Rome and Berlin. The platform does not focus on any particular format or genre but aims to produce meaningful cultural artifacts in images, text, or sound.

"Even though 99 implies something unfinished, 99CHANTS is a finite project and will end on its 99th release." Writes Agata Kik.

Event series: ‘National Grid’ sound installation by Disinformation Expanded_Music ‘Into the Depths’

With a nod to the Farsight Collective’s extreme proximity to the guitar shops in London’s Denmark Street, this latest iteration of “National Grid” sends the pure 50Hz note of live mains electricity, direct from a mains electrical transformer, into an audio mixer, electric guitar pedal, amplifier and sub-bass loudspeaker.

The event runs on Friday, 11 Oct 2024, at 6 pm and on Saturday, 12, and Sunday, 13, by appointment at Farsight Collective in London.

"The vertiginous universe of multidisciplinary artist and curator Atay Ilgun seems ever-expanding in ways impossible to enclose within linear timelines. Elements, meanings, objects, fantasies, locations and characters shimmer into being and extinguish like virtual meteoroids traversing the dark sky over the city of London, where the artist is based." Writes Ania Morkryzka.
