For more than 19 years, Tallahassee Woman Magazine (TWM) has been a voice for women—celebrating their victories, amplifying their stories, and creating a platform where women can see themselves reflected in all their strength, resilience, and brilliance. As the only locally owned, women-focused magazine in Tallahassee, our purpose has always been clear: to uplift women, to remind them that they are not alone, and to empower them to keep moving forward, together.
But our mission is more than words on a page. For many of us, it is deeply personal.
Our Publisher, Dr. Michelle Mitcham, knows this journey intimately. She lovingly cared for her Aunt Lou during her courageous fight with cancer and also walked alongside her Uncle Orin during his own health battle. Their stories—and the stories of countless women and families in Tallahassee who have faced cancer—remind us why this fight matters. Cancer doesn’t just affect one person; it touches every sister, mother, daughter, aunt, and friend in its path.

A Message from DR. ANDREA FRIALL:
With over 24 years in this community as an OB/GYN physician, I have seen firsthand how important it is to stay vigilant in our desire to find a cure for breast cancer. So grateful for the advances that have been made, but we need to do more, continue to fight, support our patients who have been diagnosed, and make every effort to stop the next person from being told ”you have breast cancer.”
