The Sports Book Awards is the major annual promotion for sports writing and publishing, the awards exist to highlight the most outstanding sports books of the previous calendar year, to showcase their merits and to enhance their reputation and profile.

We were proud to honour Roddy Bloomfield with a Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Sports Book Awards, celebrating his extraordinary contributions to sports publishing over several decades.

Widely regarded as the doyen of the genre, Roddy has helped shape how sporting stories are told, bringing the voices of athletes to life and capturing the passion, drama and humanity of sport in print.

Presented by cricket correspondent Michael Atherton, with moving tributes from Sir Alex Ferguson, Alan Shearer and Henry Blofeld, it was a moment of deep respect and well-deserved recognition.
