May we never forget the lives lost in a brutal attack 24 years ago today. Over 3000 people who went to bed the night before did not realize that they would never see another sunset. Please stop for a moment today and pray for the lost souls. 💔💔

Hello All! We have been having issues with the new meters since transitioning over. We expect bills to be sent out this week and I certainly do thank all of you who have inquired regarding your bill. The balance will not be, obviously, due on the 10th but if you have any questions, please reach out. The bills that will come will be postcards instead of the regular sheet of paper and so far we do not have a place for the newsletter to land. We are in the process of getting a website built which is one possibility. Also, if you have an email address and have not already provided it to the City, please send it to [email protected]. There will be two links sent to the address provided for the billing and payment app and a site to monitor your meter usage. We can also email your bill to you and at that time the newsletter could possibly be sent if you are interested in getting it. These are possibilities we are still working on and, again, your patience is appreciated. 🙂

City Hall will be closed on Monday September 1st in observance of Labor Day. We will have limited hours on Friday August 29th. Enjoy the holiday and hopefully cooler weather.

17/07/2025

We will be dedicating the pipeline on Friday July 25th at 3:00 p.m. at City Hall.

We have a broken water main on Duncan Mansion and in order to fix it the water will need to be shut off in a half hour and will be off for two hours during repair. Please plan accordingly and fill some extra jugs for drinking, cooking and flushing your toilet. We apologize for the inconvenience.

06/07/2025

We have a broken water pipe downtown so there will be issues with low pressure and water outage throughout the day. If you can collect water in jugs you should do so. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Well folks, I hope your 4th of July is going well. I'm leaving from downtown since no one is here. I would ask to those of you shooting fireworks off in New Town that you please pick up debris left behind in the street and your neighbor's yard. Happy birthday America! ❤️🇺🇸

Happy Independence Day!!
Just a reminder that City Hall is closed today for the holiday.
Also, anyone who would like to bring their fireworks downtown and shoot them off is more than welcome. I will be down there at around 7 and we will have a food truck there for refreshments. Please be respectful of the people and animals who get spooked by the boom of the fireworks and come on down and join us downtown.
Stay safe this weekend.

The water is back on in Duncan Mansion area. Citizens are advised to boil water for 24 hours as a precaution. The water from your tap is still good to drink and use.

01/07/2025

Regarding the pressure in the Duncan Mansion lines, they will be working today to disconnect the tower from the system. Unfortunately this may mean a water outage I'm told for a possible two hour max but it also could not happen at all. So fill some jugs to be prepared just in case.

June 30, 2025

This notice is from Meridian Waste regarding trash pickup for the Fourth of July Holiday.

Service Alert

We apologize for hitting send too quickly! Amended service schedule update for the Independence Day holiday follows:
In honor of America's birthday, there will be no Meridian Waste solid waste collection on Friday, July 4th. Friday routes will be picked up on Saturday, July 5th instead. Enjoy the fireworks, freedom, and family — we’ll handle the trash the next day!

Folks!

We just now received the letter from MoDNR St. Louis Region that we are approved to release you to use the water that is coming to you through your tap. This means you can drink it and cook with it without fear of radionuclides. This is a long awaited movement forward and we are proud to be at this point. There will be NO MORE bottled water distributed to anyone. Thank you for your patience.
