Episode 222: The Legend of Cheesman Park feat. Shannon of Fluently Forward!
Image 01: Cheesman Park is one of Denver’s most popular parks.
Image 02: The park is a surrounded by trendy shops, bars, and eateries.
Image 03: The modern Pavilion.
Image 04: Pavilion just after construction (1908).

Image 06: “Bone Hill” aka the old burial grounds (late 1800s).
Image 07-09: Prospect Hill Cemetery became overgrown and fell into disrepair prompting the city to relocate the bodies and create a new park where the bodies had been. According to legend, not all the bodies were exhumed and moved properly.

Image 13: Skeletons unearthed in modern times (2010-2016) have revealed there are still unaccounted for remains littered throughout the park. Some estimates place the number at 2000-5000 unclaimed bodies.

Welcome to the photo dump for Episode Episode 221: The Betz Sphere! On March 27, 1974, a small brush fire broke out on Fort George Island near Jacksonville, Florida. Located near the edge of a property owned by the affluent Betz family, the fire wasn’t large enough to cause much damage, but the rising smoke spotted out the window of the family home warranted a check-up, at the very least. As 21-year-old Terry Betz cautiously approached the small blaze, he could have never predicted what he would find. There, at the bottom of that small fire burning in the underbrush, was an object that would change his life forever. The strange object was a metallic sphere, no larger than a bowling ball, perfectly smooth and round. Once the fire was extinguished, Terry took the metallic sphere home with him so he could inspect it more closely, but he and the rest of the Betz Family soon realized that the object seemed to have a mind of its own. On today’s episode of Let’s Get Haunted, we’ll take a closer look at this story - and others like it - as we seek to discover the truth behind the tale of The Betz Sphere.
