Writing for At The Barrier, John Barlass raved about Ghosts of the Old West by American George Mann and Australian Mick Coates.

“A partnership with seeds sown during a whiskey-drenched binge at the 2024 Maldon Folk festival. The talents of Ithica, NY polemicist George Mann and Aussie folky Mick Coates fit together very well as Ghosts Of The Old West – the fruits of their collaboration – demonstrates"

This morning Americana Highways premiered the video for the song “The Ghost of Alice” from her soon to be released album, Reverse the Flow.

For the video premier today, Americana Highways editor Melissa Clarke wrote:

“As Alice tells us, ‘'The Ghost of Alice' is a story that came from the wind. I did a show in Westcliffe, Colorado in October of 2024 and was awoken by a couple of owls so I went out for a full moon walk. The owls followed me from tree to tree all around that little neighborhood and the next day the story brewed and came to life in a campground in Goodland, Kansas next to what appeared to be a haunted house. I really like complicated stories and characters with depth. Every time I sing the song I get something different out of it and I hope the listener experiences that too.’”

This song tells a story - a ghost story, a haunted house, a murder mystery and gently sinister sounds to pull you in. The violin punctuates to add chills up and down your spine as the tale unfolds: "the ghost of Alice sings with the owls at night she's been stuck between the worlds ever since she opened her eyes."

"Grace is known and respected in songwriters’s circles and has co-written with Lori McKenna, and now with Jackson Emmer and Jeff Plankenhorn to sediment her distinction. These songs are deeply insightful and wrapped in upbeat “snap your fingers” country and rootsy rock styles. The coastal energies, the sea and the beaches are carried through the imagery of family life, growing up, working hard, getting out, looking back, and raising kids of your own. Tune in and enjoy the experience." - Elise Cady, Americana Highways 8-6-2025
