The desire to be our own god makes us believe in the most outrageous of creeds.
Take those clever men* who believe that this beautiful and intricate universe made itself with a Big Bang.
These believers bravely plumb for a Big Bang despite the biggest and most obvious of all flaws ... every Bang, big or otherwise, creates mayhem and madness.
Put a series of big bangs together and all you get is the meaningless destruction of the Gaza Strip or a big hole in Iran.
In fact every Big Bang this world has ever witnessed has ended in destruction and chaos.
And yet the wonderful truth of modern science at the same time insists that one cubic millimetre of DNA can store more than 470,000 hard drives' worth of data.**
Just picture in your mind for nanosecond that one single cubic millimetre is ever so slightly bigger than the point of a needle!!
I would humbly suggest that these otherwise clever men rethink their reality and find room for an Incredible and powerful Creator.
* I've so far not met a woman who dismisses the existence of God. I'm sure they exist but I tend to find that most of the fairer s*x at least give God a fair chance and hearing.

Who would you trust most... a human being with all our faults and frailties or the Creator of the World?
Most, it would seem, judging from church attendance, would rather trust their fellow human. Afterall, hasn't God been sacked as the cause of the universe. Surely, it's all down to a Big Bang and evolution.
But there's a problem. Every explosion we ever witnessed caused chaos and destruction. How can a mindless big bang and then a mindless series of accidents produce this incredible and intelligent world we live in?
Maybe, just maybe, we should go back and review the possibility of a powerful God.
The one who claimed to be God made man, Jesus, had a different view. Billions have come to know him personally, realising that he started this incredible world.

I get many atheists attacking my pieces about God and Creation.
They consider the Bible to be a fairy story, something that never happened.
The fact that we sometimes teeter on the brink of a final world war because of the events at the heart of the Bible never seems to occur to them.
The latest critic we'll call Richard S, who claimed that the Bible was fairy-tale material. Here's my considered reply to him and all critics of the Bible...
Hi Richard S,
God's been around long before books were possible.
Though, He actually is the author of the first family saga. It goes back to his mini-family with Adam and Eve.
Then came the overwhelming saga of Noah and the flood (which shaped our present earth and its geology).
Then came the family whose members were to equal the grains of sand on the seashore ... via Abraham and Sarah, the affects of which we are still experiencing this week in Gaza.
The cause of the Gaza Strip began way back when Abraham couldn't quite manage his family, and caused a row about succession--- and who would be the first Son
And so, back to you Richard S.
ALL the above may have happened on an insignificant strip of land on the Eastern Mediterranean coast, but to pass it all off as a fairy story...well, it's quite insulting really, isn't it?
It's insulting to Jews Muslims, Christians and to all those who fear what tomorrow's headlines might crash down upon our fragile peace.
I wonder, Richard S. and your fellow atheists, do you feel it might be wise to remove this silly lie about the Bible being a fairy story?
Equating the possible cause of World War Three with Jack and the Beanstalk or Cinderella is somewhat disrespectful to those old folk and innocent children dodging bombs on Gaza Strip.
P.S.
Maybe RICHARD S., you might even reconsider your atheism.
The Bible is as far away from legend and fairy story as you can get. Looking at the Ten o'clock news it's glaringly relevant.
Perhaps, you might even read God's Word. Afterall, it's saved many a died-in-wool atheist and brought them to their knees before the great God and the very relevant Book they found.

As promised, here's Part Two of why Creationists do not deny science.
Part One showed that it was Christians who largely discovered and developed our physical sciences, and so why would they now reject them?
PART TWO deals with biology because this is where many of the problems seem to arise.
Actually, writes my excellent source, Dr Jonathan Sarfati, "Creationists founded many branches of biology too."
Look at GENETICS:
Gregory Mendel (1822 - 1884) was a monk and then Abbot when he introduced us to genetics. Sadly, Charles Darwin ignored Mendel’s work and ended up with a faulty view of inheritance.
John Sandford (b. 1950) invented the gene gun and showed how rapid gene mutation makes evolution possible. Also, he showed that we would be extinct if long-age dogma were true.
Look at ANESTHESIA
James Simpson pioneered anesthesia, especially to relieve childbirth pain. Some evolutionary propaganda accuses Christians of opposing anesthesia as it supposedly attacks God's decree that all women suffer childbirth pain (Genesis 3:16).
Simpson's biblically justified retort was that God used anesthesia on Adam to make Eve. And Jesus showed that alleviating aspects of the Curse was a blessing. No notable Christian raised any religious objection to Simpson; most were highly supportive (see Creation.com/simpson).
Look at GERM THEORY
Antonio Philips van Leeuwenhoek (1632 - 1723) discovered bacteria. He said they "glorify the Lord and Creator of the Universe."
Joseph Lister (1827-1912) was a dedicated Christian who saved countless lives by inventing antiseptic surgery.
Louis Pasteur (1822-1895), a firm believer in Creation, disproved spontaneous generation (Life from non-life).
One antibiotic penicillin discoverer was Ernst Chain (1906 - 1979), an orthodox Jew and strident anti-Darwinist.
WHAT'S LEFT TO DENY?
Evolution relies on variation and natural selection. But Creationists don't even deny these. Not today, and not even before Darwin (1809 - 1882). We just deny the unproven claim that such processes could turn bacteria into biologists.
VARIATION
Anglican Bishop John Wilkins (1614-1672) founded the metric system and the Royal Society. He also realised that comparatively few Ark kinds gave rise to many more varieties.
Carl Linnaeus (1707-1778), who some called 'the Second Adam' for classifying creatures (Jesus is the Last Adam - 1 Corinthians 15:45), understood that God created them to vary.
NATURAL SELECTION
Historians of Biology inform us that pre-Darwinian creationist biologists understood natural selection was real. But unlike Darwin, they comprehended it was a culling force, not a creative one, and that it didn't explain the arrival of the fittest.
CONCLUSION
Creationists don't deny real science; they founded most types of science.
Variation and natural selection are part of the biblical creationist model.
As a matter of logic, if something is part of two rival models, it can't be used to support one against the other.

DO CREATIONISTS DENY SCIENCE?
That's the suggested "slur" evolutionists aim at those who believe in Creation.
"Oh, they're burying their heads in the sand," chortle some while others just bluntly sack a Creator God and say "science is all we need."
I rather like the sensible ans measure approach of
Dr Jonathan Sarfati writing in CREATIONEXTRA in March 2024.
He explains the following...
Evolutionists often claim that Creationists deny science. But what science do Creationists deny? And what does history say?
FOUNDATION OF SCIENCE
Before discussing science, we should wonder why it even works. Science requires an orderly universe, but why should it be orderly in the first place? Evolution can't explain it.
However, the Bible teaches a Divine Lawmaker - the God of Order, not confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33) - made the universe. God gave mankind dominion (Genesis 1:28), implying we are meant to study the creation and find out how it works.
University, a medieval church invention, first laid the foundations of science. Its pioneers were often clergymen, what we might call natural philosophers (natural philosophy was the old term for science).
A few centuries later, the Reformation led to the rediscovery of a more objective understanding of Scripture which was transferred to nature. Science historian Peter Harrison wrote, "The Bible and its literal interpretation have played a vital role in the development of Western Science.
SPECIFIC
SCIENCES
Let's explore several scientific branches to see if creationists deny them.

ASTRONOMY
Johannes Kepler (1571-1630) discovered the three laws of planetary motion. He also invented the refracting telescope used by modern astronomers, and discovered how eyes focus incoming light.
He said his scientific work was "thinking God's thoughts after him."
CHEMISTRY
Robert Boyle (1627-1691) overturned the pagan-Greek view of four elements: fire, water, earth and air. Instead he proposed the modern scientific definition: a substance that can't be broken down into anything simpler.
Boyle discovered that gas volume is inversely proportional to pressure (i.e. the smaller the volume of gas the higher the pressure).
He also wrote books defending Christianity.
PHYSICS
Albert Einstein's three scientific heroes were Faraday, Maxwell and Newton.
Michael Faraday (1791-1867), a member of a very Conservative sect (the Sandemanians), pioneered electrochemistry (important for electroplating) and magnetic induction (vital for electric generators).
James Clerk Maxwell (1831-1879) hugely contributed to thermodynamics, and his electromagnetism equations were foundational for Einstein's relativity. Maxwell rejected Darwinism and affirmed Noah's Flood.
Sir Isaac Newton (1642/3-1727) discovered the laws of motion, gravity, and cooling, and the spectrum of light. But he wrote more about Scripture than science.
SCIENTIFIC MATHEMATICS
Newton also co-invented calculus. Other outstanding creationist mathematicians included Blaise Pascal (1623-172), discoverer of probability and hydraulics, and Leonhard Euler (1707-1783), who probably discovered more mathematics than anyone else.
SO, CREATIONISTS ARE HARDLY LIKELY TO REJECT PHYISICAL SCIENCES, HAVING PLAYED A HUGE PART IN DISCOVERING AND DEVELOPING THEM.
Well, maybe it's biology that Creationists reject.
WRONG!
But we'll follow this up tomorrow with the second part of this revelation that there would probably have been no modern science but for the genius and hardwork of Christians who knew that behind everything there is an orderly Creating Mind called GOD!
