The Siren ❤️ A budding platform promoting Visual Art & Music Action Welcome to the online scene of "The Siren" -- New Bedford's very own art magazine.

Each month you can read individual artist and musican/band interviews, the AHA! Night Review, enjoy local illustrations & comics, and check out the upcoming art-related events around the area! New Bedford and Fall River are cities with a rich history, where artists of all sorts are living and working currently. Our goal is to spread the word and to celebrate all those local talents, creating a collaborative environment!

Pop into the shops and galleries open late for AHA! Night, Thursday, August 14th, including:

🖼️ TL6 the Gallery, 100 William St., until 8pm
See the unique work of TL6 featured Artist of the Month Kate Salvi. Kate is a photographer and collage artist who is inspired by nature, in particular flowers and birds.

🎨 Alison Wells Fine Art Studio & Gallery, 106 William St., until 8pm
Explore Alison’s original work as well as pop-ups from Kinks by BryNatural.co, a handmade hair care line created right here in New Bedford, and Farmer Jai’s Plant Stand with a lush selection of healthy, vibrant plants.

🪴 Local Blooms, 200 Union St., 4-6pm
Your local flower shop hosts pop-ups with Jollie Jars handcrafted pottery and homemade cookies by Dora’s Dough.

This AHA! Night is going to be shell-tastic!

🐚 Cheer on the fishermen during the scallop shucking contest at the Fishing Heritage Center's Scallopalooza (5-8pm, contest at 6:30pm, 38 Bethel St.).

🐚 Create shell crafts with Pilgrim United Church Home (5-7pm, 634 Purchase St.) and Taunton Federal Credit Union (5-8:00pm, 93 Union St.).

🐚 Shell-ebrate our oceans with The Trustees' Adventure Team who will bring sand, shells and real ocean specimens to the National Park Visitors Center for STEM activities for ocean lovers of all ages (5-8pm, 33 William St.).
