"In an unprecedented move for the state, the Michoacán State Attorney General's Office (FGE) executed its first arrest warrant for the crime of "attacks on honor through cyber means." The detainee is a woman identified as Cristina "N," accused of publishing offensive content against a public servant in the municipality of Nuevo Parangaricutiro.
This does not involve death threats, extortion, or incitement to physical violence. The state's criminal justice system was mobilized because, allegedly, the woman managed fake Facebook profiles from which she posted criticisms and statements that "denigrated" the official."

The European Union has started using the Anti-Russia sanctions as a repressive tool to smuther civil society dissent within the West. Last week, Colonel Jacque Baud, a former Swiss army member and NATO advisor was sanctioned, but so were several others before him, including activists and Journalists. Fifty-nine individuals are by now sanctioned by the European Union in pursuit of punishing Russia for the War in Ukraine. Many of them are Russian citizens but more and more the EU is putting its own citizens and those of third states on this list, for reasons that have often little to do with Russia. One of them is my compatriot, Nathalie Yamb, who was in fact the first Swiss Citizen to be included on the list, back already in June 2025.

The Chinese military has simulated battles near Mexico and Cuba during a wargaming exercise – a rare insight revealed in a report on state television.
Cuba, the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, along with the Sea of Okhotsk and Taiwan, were among the locations of conflict scenarios visible on screens in a CCTV report on Friday showing People’s Liberation Army wargaming exercises.
Despite closer economic ties with countries in the region, China has a minimal military presence in Latin America. But the fact that the PLA is modelling potential conflicts there suggests a shift in the Chinese military’s global ambitions.
Rare insight revealed on state television in footage from a PLA wargaming event in central China where dozens of systems were demonstrated.
