As Hurricane Milton, a Category 5 storm, approaches, Walt Disney World Resort is taking proactive measures to safeguard its iconic attractions. One such precaution involves the temporary removal of the spires from Cinderella Castle, a beloved symbol of the Magic Kingdom park.

This decision is primarily driven by safety concerns. The tall spires of the castle, while visually stunning, could potentially pose a risk during severe weather conditions. Removing them can help to reduce the likelihood of damage caused by high winds or flying debris during the Category 4 hurricane.

Once the hurricane threat has passed, the spires will be reinstalled, restoring the castle to its familiar appearance.
