🚨 Story Time – West Side: What Happened Early Saturday 🚨

Early Saturday morning in East Garfield Park, things turned deadly when a man, about 33, tried to break into an apartment in the 3400 block of W. Monroe Street just before 7:00 AM.

Inside the apartment were several people when a 28-year-old woman, who holds a valid concealed carry license, fired at the intruder. He was shot twice.

He was rushed to Mt. Sinai Hospital, but later died from his injuries.

Police believe the incident may have a domestic angle. No names have been released. Investigation is ongoing.

🕵️‍♂️ What to Keep in Mind

A licensed gun holder defended their home in what may be legally considered self-defense.

This happened in a residential setting early in the morning.

The “domestic nature” note suggests more to the story—police may be looking into relationships or prior interactions.

🚨 Breaking News 🚨
A young child was critically injured after being run over by an industrial-style lawnmower in Cary, IL on Saturday.

🙏 A quick-thinking neighbor applied a makeshift tourniquet before the child was airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center.

👮 The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, and the circumstances are still unclear.
