🚨 AUBURN HAS A NEW HEAD COACH! 🐅

Ken Harnden has officially been named the new Head Coach of Auburn Track & Field.

Since joining Auburn in 2022, Harnden has helped transform the Tigers into a sprint and hurdles powerhouse, with his athletes accounting for 96% of the Auburn men’s points scored at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships during his tenure.

The seven-time USTFCCCA National Assistant Coach of the Year has coached 31 individual NCAA champions and 24 Olympians across his 23-year Division I coaching career.

Legendary Coach Stephen Francis Passes Away at 64 🕊️🇯🇲

Legendary Jamaican coach Stephen “Franno” Francis has passed just one day after his birthday. 🇯🇲

The MVP Track & Field Club co-founder and Technical Director helped reshape Jamaican sprinting after co-founding the programme in 1999.

Francis guided generations of Olympic and World champions, including Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Asafa Powell, Elaine Thompson-Herah, Shericka Jackson, Kishane Thompson and many more. 🌍⚡️

A true giant of track & field whose impact will be felt for generations. Rest in peace, Franno. 🕊️💔

🚨Paris Diamond League at Serious Risk of Cancellation 🇫🇷

The Paris Diamond League, scheduled for 28 June at Charléty Stadium, is facing possible cancellation after Paris police requested organizers to call off the event due to an extreme heatwave.

Authorities say emergency services and hospitals have been pushed to their limits by the ongoing heat since 21 June, and large gatherings could further strain healthcare resources.

The request also includes other major events taking place this weekend, such as the Solidays Festival and the Pride March.

If organizers do not voluntarily cancel the meet, authorities have stated they will officially prohibit the event by decree.

💰 A historic move by the IOC.

Starting with Milano Cortina 2026, every eligible Olympian will be able to apply for a $10,000 grant through the new “Fit for the Future Olympian Grant” program.

The $140 million initiative marks the first time in Olympic history that direct financial support will be available to all participating athletes.

IOC President Kirsty Coventry called it “a topic of conversation for many years” and said she is proud to finally see it become a reality.
