Widespread showers and storms are going across the state at this time! ⚡

This is MUCH WELCOMED heat relief for those that are seeing the activity, other areas that haven't seen anything continue to bake!

NONE of this activity is tornadic/expected to become tornadic, however, gusty winds will be the main issues with any strong storms

BIGGER temperature relief arrives next week, more on that later on! 👀

NEW:

Severe T-Storm Warning for the Little Rock Metro area! Main threats will be 60 MPH winds with the storms moving in from the north!

We also have a severe t-storm warning for areas near the DeQueen area as well!

As much as we need the rainfall, please be mindful of strong/damaging winds with these storms!

Isolated Severe Weather Possible Later Today + 1:10 PM Radar Update:

It's been a little while since we had a Level 1 out of 5 risk but we do have that in place for this afternoon-evening!

NO tornado risk with these storms, however, high winds (microburst potential) will be there with any storms that goes severe! Timing will be from now - 8 PM!

We already have storms popping up across the area, these storms will be hit & miss this afternoon - evening!

Good Morning Arkansas!

BRUTALLY hot temperatures continue to be the trend going into your Tuesday timeframe!

Highs are expected to range from the mid 90's to around 104 degrees! There is a heat advisory for a good portion of the state! Eastern and Central Arkansas are under the extreme heat warning!

Isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected across the state today! We are not expecting to have widespread severe weather, however I cannot rule out a couple strong/severe storms!

If you are going to be outside today, make sure that you are hydrated and that you are limiting the amount of time outdoors!

Strong Cold Front Potential Early Next Week??? 👀

It's that special time of year folks!

Our friends over at Yates Maintenance is trying to cook us up a teaser fall cold front late this weekend into early next week!

IF trends hold, this will bring highs down into the 80s with overnight lows in the upper 50s/low 60s with MUCH lowered humidity! *Keep in mind it's still summer*

This front would also bring storm chances as well (not drought busting but better than nothing rainfall!)

As you all know things can & will change so we'll keep you updated on this!

Most of us saw dry and hot in the state on Sunday, however, some were not as lucky!

Coming alive are weather cameras around the state! We will be having a lot more go up around the state over the next few weeks! As we talked about in the previous story, we are excited where this is going! Could a weather camera be coming to a town near you? Stay tuned……

Good Morning Arkansas!

Another BRUTALLY hot day is expected across the state for your Monday timeframe!

Temperatures will range from the mid 90's to around 103 degrees! We have a heat advisory that goes for much of the state today! In East and Central Arkansas we also have an extreme heat warning in place as well!

We could see a few isolated pop up summertime showers across the state! We are not expecting to have widespread severe weather today, however I cannot rule out a couple strong/severe storms!

If you are going to be outside today, make sure that you are staying hydrated and limit the amount of time you are spending outdoors!

After a BRUTAL weekend with temperatures near 100 degrees, the hot weather continues until mid-week!

Any outdoor plans needs to involve making sure you're staying hydrated & limiting time outside!

We have two "cold fronts" in the next 8 days that will keep us from being in the 100s for highs!

Rain chances look highest on Tuesday/Wednesday (can't rule out a few strong storms, widespread severe weather is NOT expected)!

Overall after Tuesday... not a terrible August forecast!

CHECK THIS OUT 😳!

This is the result of wind damage between McRae, AR & Garner, AR from the severe thunderstorm that went through earlier this afternoon!

We're getting multiple reports of significant tree damage & power outages into the weather center right now from this storm! Fortunately this storm has died off!
