All roads are open now.

UPDATE 03-26-2025 at 2:30 pm
The train has moved so most roads are open. The train company is still doing some checks at Hartwell and E. Main St. so continue to avoid those railroad crossings.

***03-26-2025 at 12:15 pm*** URGENT READ****
IF you plan on traveling into or through The City of Waukesha please note many streets with train intersections will be unexpectedly closed. The photo attached shows the areas closed that will affect traffic flow. We strongly encourage you to use an alternate route for the next few hours. It is unknown how long they will be closed. We will post when open again.

Roads affected with railroad crossings:
E. Main St at railroad crossing
Hartwell at railroad crossing
Arcadian at railroad crossing
E. Broadway at railroad crossing
N. East Ave at railroad crossing

Other roads with railroad crossing are open but traffic will likely be increased greatly at those and delays will occur.

Earlier today at ~12:00 PM, a train in Waukesha hit a pedestrian near the intersection of E. Main St. and N. Hartwell Ave. We were able to get the drone up and video of the scene while they provided aid to the victim. We can not confirm whether the victim has survived or not but the drone video shows FD/PD stopping aid to the victim. Also, we can not confirm whether this was an accident or a su***de. More details to come as WKPD investigates further. Waukesha Police Department

Over the weekend there have been 3 incidents relating to people falling through ice, leading to one male dead after being under water for over 30 minutes. Fortunately, the victims from the other two incidents were able to safely get out of the water and to safety.

As we go into the work week we will floating around freezing temperatures. That being said stay safe on the ice and bring gear that can prevent or help you get out of the ice if worst come to worst!
