Milton Makes Landfall

With already near 600,000 without power, Milton strikes landfall several hours early at 8:28 pm EST (ESTIMATED) in a direct hit upon Sarasota generating extensive flooding and bringing large storm surges into Ft. Myers, Naples and Manatee county.

At Cat 3, with 120 MPH winds and 950 millibars, traveling at just under 20 MPH it’s beginning it’s tear across the Florida peninsula and this post will be updated as information becomes available directly and/or in the comments section.

Milton Approaching Landfall
AN OVERVIEW

Expected landfall near Sarasota ~ 8-10 pm EST

Fastest intensification from Cat 1-5

Only storm to go below 905 millibars twice in history

5th lowest pressure ever recorded in a hurricane at 897 millibars

Over 8 million people in harm’s way

Strongest winds ever recorded in a hurricane at 180 MPH

Spawning record setting number of large, damaging tornadoes and warnings

Last hurricane to hit perpendicular was a Cat 3 in 1921 with only one before that in 1888

Shortest time between two catastrophic storms replacing the 25 day record set in 1980

Expected to cause millions of power outages and billions of dollars in damages

Milton Update

Expected landfall late tonight or past midnight, Milton has increased approach speed to 16 MOH but has ticked south a bit possibly sparing Tampa the worst of the storm surge but that remains to be seen with the new possible target being the Ft Myers Beach and Naples area but this remains uncertain.

It has also been expanding again and expected to diuble again in size and is currently taching a Cat 4 strength but with expanded wind field the minot taching down is insignificant and 10-12’ storm surges are still expected as this expansion sctually only means a greater and wider path of destruction is likely.

~ Milton the Monster ~

This hurricane is in a category by itself. No other hurricane has had higher wind speeds and is also already on record as being the 5th lowest pressure ever recorded at 897 millibars and while an eyewall replacement cycle has just completed dropping it to a Category 4, it’s on it’s way to recovering Category 5 strength and has roughly doubled in size.

No other hurricane in over 100 years has approached the west coast of Florida perpendicularly either and this WILL result in tremendously catastrophic storm surges in the Tampa and Tampa Bay area! Florida is currently under one of the largest mass evacuations ever because of this.

Airports and Universities are closing as well as first responders issuing warnings that services will be suspended in affected evac areas as well.

Power outages are coming with projections being to last at least days and potentially weeks in areas near Tampa and surrounding regions.

This anomalous hurricane is also producing HAIL out of the north facing front which is nearly unheard of for a tropical storm but the sheer immense height of this system is generating this as well.

Considering after Helene, few would expect a WORSE hurricane coming in their entire lifetime, yet here one is less than 2 weeks later!

To make it worse, debris piles from Helene will be converted into projectiles by both the wind and storm surges wreaking havoc on already damaged properties.

This enormous surge in strength is also a 1st going from originally a Category 1 to a 5 in just 11 hours!

Expected to cut a swath across the entire state, it will still be at hurricane strength when leaving the eastern coast!

Emergency declarations are currently at 51 of Florida’s 67 counties and hurricane warnings have expanded to now cover Orlando as well as all other toens and cities in the path of this monster storm.

Flee the storm surge and hide from the wind as surges are expected to be higher than the entire depth of Tampa Bay!

Milton reaches epic 175 MPH winds and takes a track unseen since early 1900’s well PAST CAT 5 (150 MPH winds)

~ M I L T O N ~

Just as we are still reeling from Helene, Hurricane Milton is going to strike land on Weds. according to forecasts slamming the western Florida coast with winds projected to be upwards of 150 MPH according to Accuweather models, or 145 MPH according to others but either way a Cat 5 or 4 is going to tear into the Tampa area causing severe storm surges and power outtages that could continue for days or even weeks.

With FEMA being bankrupt essentially according to Mayorkis, Florida residents, much like North Carolinians, will likely have to fend for themselves and the volunteer agencies such as Samaritan’s Purse, and others.

Our current administration is derelict in it’s duties and their misguided priorities steered toward only adding blue voters is reprehensible. On the heels of steadily climbing death tolls from Helene, an urgent call is going out in advance for any and all who can even donate $5.00 will help shore up the abysmal so-called leadership coming out of the Biden-Harris White House.

Time is short to baton down the hatches and help Floridians prepare and continuing aid to NC as temps drop and many have lost everything. May God help them and may He work through His children to safeguard as many in both locations as is possible at this point.

Samaritan’s Purse seems to be the major force in these areas and a donation has been made here and asking all who can that are reading this to join with me ahead of Milton.

Highest Regards and Much Love,

Kevin
