HEADS UP: The WHO is about to release its flagship report on social connection — and I’m attending the global launch event on June 30.
They’re addressing the global epidemic of loneliness, which is vital — but will they tackle the deeper causes? I submitted this question:
“How will you tackle the underlying Western values that produce loneliness – individualism, control, competition, etc.?”
These cultural forces fragment communities and reduce people to consumers, workers, and data points. If we don’t name the system, we won’t solve the problem.
