🚨 Historic Win for Girls' Rights! 🚨

The National Assembly has passed a landmark bill prohibiting child marriage in Islamabad, marking a critical step towards protecting the rights, health, and future of every child. 🙌

Introduced by Sharmila Faruqi and supported by a majority vote, the bill criminalizes any marriage involving individuals under the age of 18—regardless of gender. ⚖️

This is a powerful move in the fight to end harmful practices and safeguard the dignity of girls across Pakistan. 💜

UN Women commends this bold action and reaffirms our commitment to ending child marriage everywhere.

Calling on young peacebuilders! 🌍🚀

Want to shape the future of peace and security worldwide? Join the research project and help develop youth-led indicators for the Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) agenda!

The project is funded by The Carnegie Trust and led by a research team from the University of Glasgow and Griffith University.

🔎 We would like to hear from you if you are:
• 18-29 years old;
• actively engaged in YPS in your country (in a conflict-affected or post-conflict society);
• comfortable participating in English.

💡 Here's how you can get involved:
• Share your insights: Complete a short survey to tell us about your experiences.
• Collaborate with others: Join virtual focus groups and contribute to a digital collaborative mapping of indicators.
• Influence decision-makers: Present and discuss your findings with key peace actors at a virtual workshop.

Lahore, the second-largest city of Pakistan, is often referred to as the "City of Gardens" due to its numerous lush green parks and historical gardens. The city's Mughal heritage is reflected in famous spots like Shalimar Bagh and Lawrence Gardens (now Bagh-e-Jinnah). As a cultural hub, Lahore combines its rich history with modern urban life, making it both a vibrant and scenic destination.
