The 4th edition of the Cahaya XR Mentorship Programme returns in 2026 in partnership with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation! This year the program is offering RM5,000 seed funding + Unity support worth RM5,000 to selected teams or businesses to create their own XR story prototypes (terms and conditions apply).
Through the CahayaXR StoryLabs, participants will explore immersive storytelling in VR, AR, and MR while bringing the living heritage of Penang to life.
In conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026, this year’s theme “Inheritance” invites creators to reimagine how stories of place, memory, and identity can be shared through XR.
