Oregon Wine Press Established in 1984, Oregon Wine Press is the Who, What, When, Where of Wine in Oregon.

Portland-area natives Richard Hopkins and Elaine Cohen started what then was named Oregon Wine Calendar in 1984. They nurtured their magazine for 22 years, promoting and growing with the Oregon wine industry. In 2006, Oregon Wine Press was acquired by the News-Register Publishing Co., a family-owned, fourth-generation publishing company in McMinnville, OR. From its base in Oregon's lush Yamhill Va

lley, Oregon Wine Press continues in the long tradition of excellence established by its founders. News-Register Publishing Co., owned by the Bladine family since 1928, publishes a local newspaper and the Oregon Wine Press from offices in historic downtown McMinnville. The bi-weekly News-Register is a nationally acclaimed community newspaper. The company's web printing division -- Oregon Lithoprint -- prints magazines, newspapers, books and brochures for commercial clients throughout the region.

As those who have read the May issue already know, OWP's rock star editor of 16 years, Hilary Berg, has moved on to the next chapter in her professional life. Looking at where the publication was when she started to what it is now is simply amazing, and we have Hilary to thank 100% for building such a beloved and integral part of the Oregon wine industry.

We're excited to announce who will be taking the reins soon, but at the moment, a heartfelt Cheers! to Hilary.

Our Founder & CEO Jim Bernau was recently recognized as the 2021 Person of the Year by Oregon Wine Press, prompting Nasdaq Capital Markets to share the accolade on the Nasdaq Tower in New York's Times Square.

"His achievements have helped advance the Oregon wine world for nearly four decades, including over the last bustling year. Bernau’s list of current projects, during a pandemic no less, is what has earned the industry leader the Oregon Wine Press 2021 Person of the Year," Annelise Kelly wrote in her article for OWP.
