TAKI RUA THEATRE- Breaking Barriers film will have Rarotonga screening Sunday 8 November 3PM Cook Islands
National Auditorium
Here in 1992 Christina Asher Rena Owen and I with others performed for the opening week. Our inspirational Chairman Trevor Horowaewae Maxwell, Te Ope o Rehua contemporary arts Komiti of Te Waka Toi QEII Arts Council insisted we Rangatahi actors, dancers, writers be selected for the traditional Sth Pacific Festival. Of the many performances around the motu I especially recall being requested to perform for Ariki o Rarotonga and Te Arikinui Te Atarairangi Kaahu at the then brand new stage.
34 years on it’s a privilege to bring our film to this amazing now remodeled venue in Rarotonga
