SWMO Regional Dispatch The SWMO DISPATCH E‑Paper is your go‑to source for the biggest stories across southern Missouri, NW AR, and SE KS—built by and for the amateur radio community.

We also specialize in emergency communications trends, updates and information hams need. The Dispatch is staffed with at least one professional journalist and co-editor. Chief of Photography and multimedia specialist, Stringer reporters and others that help gather news and reporters. While our staff is very small we are looking for people to report activity at their club meetings each month along

with at least 1 photo. You do not have to be a professional, we can do the heavy lifting if you can get us the story basics. The Dispatch was created by Billy Dalton, who specializes in journalism and public relations and works professionally in the field as a stringer providing information and video/photos to news organizations like local TV broadcasters in a fee for service style format. I closed down the SWMO Telegraph, as it was known, in the summer of 2024 when SMARC's president tried to seize control and begin censoring the publication, something I would not stand for so we moved to an independent format. Today, there attempts to reserect the Telegraph to basically a one or two page flyer only covers its own club events, nothing more. We are grateful to our sponsor ARETA, Inc. for its sponsorship. The Dispatch is the ONLY news publication you can get free sent to your email the 1st day of every month. It also comes with companion page and coming soon, You Tube videos.

Marginal tornado risk.
Slight hail risk.
Slight thunderstorm wind damage risk.
Elevated lightning risk.

DISCUSSION...

Chance for thunderstorms (60-80%) Friday afternoon/evening. SPC
Marginal risk (1/5) and Slight risk (2/5) for severe thunderstorms.
Slight risk is over Crawford and Cherokee counties. Slight risk
area: Hail up to golf balls (1.75"), low-end tornado risk, 60 mph
damaging winds. Marginal risk area: Hail up to half dollars
(1.25"), 60 mph damaging winds.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Another chance for rain and a few rumbles of thunder (20-50%)
returns Saturday night into Sunday. Severe weather is not
expected at this time.

However, we do not make any decisions on the level of disaster, who gets aid, or how that money is dispersed. FEMA and/or the Small Business Administration will make those decisions, and we will push out that information as soon as possible.

UPDATE: new form linked to our website.

We're received hundreds of calls regarding storm damage over the last few days, and we are doing our best to keep up.

In collaboration with the county, we have created a form for residents to fill out on our website. You can find it on the Greene County homepage, our homepage, or at the link below.

This does not guarantee any financial assistance, but it does help us submit documentation to state and federal organizations for potential disaster declarations.

If your answer is waiting for the sirens to sound, think again.

Outdoor warning sirens are not meant to alert you indoors. Not to mention, if we lost power, we'd also lose the ability to sound the sirens.
