Weatherradio has quietly been canceled in Canada as of March 2026. This is the equivalent of NOAA in the USA. This is an essential safety service for those of us in Canada that live, work and play in remote areas with no cell service or internet access. This weather service provided Canadians with continuous up to date weather forecasts and weather alerts. This is a terrible thing to cancel especially with the weather being as unpredictable as it is. We cannot rely 100% on cell networks in remote areas to deliver emergency alerts. If you live in Canada, please share this post and sign the government petition to bring it back. Link in comments.

The maple sugaring season is over. My last run had a lot of sugar sand which leads to hard to filter cloudy syrup that can look unpalatable. Sugar sand is healthy for you and is made up of minerals from late season sap. However, if you want to remove it, I'll show you a very easy way with something you already have in your fridge.
