I have seen things in this life.

Last night, I cooked my husband’s favorite meal jollof rice with grilled chicken. We ate, laughed, and gossiped about our neighbors. Everything was perfect.

By 10 PM, he yawned and stretched.

“Babe, let me rest small before I go and take my bath,” he said.

I nodded and let him sleep.

By midnight, I woke up to use the bathroom and noticed he hadn’t moved. I tapped him lightly.

Baby?

Nothing.

I shook him. Still nothing.

My chest tightened. My heart started racing.

I placed my fingers under his nose. No breath.

I pressed my ear against his chest. No heartbeat.

JESUS!

I slapped him, screamed his name, poured water on him nothing.

My husband was dead.

Panic took over. I couldn’t think. What would I tell his mother? His siblings? The world?

I picked up my phone, my hands shaking. Who would I call?

Then, his phone rang.

I looked at the screen.

His mother.

Blood drained from my body. How did she know?!

Then another call his younger sister.

Another his best friend.

What was happening?!

I was sweating, shivering. I couldn’t breathe.

Then my front door creaked.

Someone was inside.

But how? I locked the doors!

A shadow moved in the hallway. My heart stopped.

I grabbed the nearest thing a wooden spoon and tiptoed toward the sound.

As I turned the corner, a hand grabbed my shoulder.

I screamed.

Then

“SURPRISE!!!”

My knees buckled. My eyes widened in horror.

Standing in my living room were my husband’s mother, his siblings, his best friends holding balloons, gifts, and a cake.

My husband sat on the couch, grinning like a devil.

“Babe, he laughed. You always say nothing shakes you. I wanted to see if that was true.

I froze.

I stared at him, then at my in laws, then at the decorations.

I slowly realized…

It was a prank.

This man had staged his own death just to see my reaction.

I collapsed on the couch, eyes burning with a mix of relief and rage.

I looked at my husband, still smiling.

I will love him forever.

But first… I need to kill him.

The End.

Happy New Month!

Tragedy in Port Harcourt: The Need for Mental Health Evaluations in the Police Force

A heartbreaking and terrifying incident occurred in Port Harcourt, where a police officer reportedly suffered a mental breakdown and opened fire, killing four innocent citizens. This tragic event raises serious concerns about the mental health of law enforcement officers and the systems in place to ensure their stability and fitness for duty.

Policing is a demanding profession that comes with immense stress, pressure, and exposure to traumatic situations. Over time, these experiences can take a toll on an officer’s mental well-being. Without proper mental health support, some officers may struggle with undiagnosed conditions that could lead to dangerous situations like this one.

To prevent such tragedies, authorities must prioritize annual mental health evaluations for police officers. Just as they undergo physical fitness tests, regular psychological assessments should be mandatory to detect early signs of stress, depression, PTSD, or other mental health issues. Officers showing signs of distress should receive immediate counseling, therapy, or, if necessary, be removed from active duty until they are mentally fit to serve.

This is not just about protecting civilians—it is also about protecting officers themselves. No one wakes up one day and decides to harm innocent people; these things often build up over time. If we truly want a safer society, we must ensure that those who are meant to protect us are also mentally stable and emotionally well.

Let’s call on the government and the police force to take action. Mental health matters, even in law enforcement.

What do you think? Should yearly mental health check-ups be made mandatory for police officers? Share your thoughts.

In recent days, a video featuring Ushie Uguamaye, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving in Lagos, has sparked widespread discussion. In her heartfelt TikTok post, Uguamaye voiced her frustrations over escalating inflation and the rising cost of living in Nigeria. She lamented that essential commodities, such as a crate of eggs, have surged from N800 to N6,500, and expressed concerns about the increasing expenses in transportation, electricity, and other basic needs. In her emotional plea, she referred to President Bola Tinubu as a “terrible president” and questioned the government’s efforts to alleviate citizens’ hardships.

Following the video’s circulation, Uguamaye reported receiving threats, allegedly from NYSC officials, pressuring her to remove the content. In a subsequent video, she shared a phone call where an individual, purportedly an NYSC official, reprimanded her and demanded the video’s deletion.

Amnesty International has condemned these threats, asserting that Uguamaye’s right to peacefully express her discontent should be respected. They emphasized that instead of intimidating her, authorities should focus on addressing the pressing economic challenges facing millions of Nigerians.

This incident raises critical questions about freedom of expression in Nigeria. Should citizens, especially youth corps members, face intimidation for voicing their concerns? How can we ensure that our leaders address the genuine hardships experienced by the populace? It’s imperative that we foster an environment where constructive criticism is welcomed and addressed, rather than suppressed.

Let’s engage in this conversation. Share your thoughts and experiences. How has the current economic situation affected you? Do you believe citizens have the right to openly criticize their leaders without fear of retribution? Your voice matters.

A lot of people think talent is the key to success, but in reality, consistency beats talent every time. You don’t have to be the best at something right away you just need to show up and improve little by little. Whether it’s in business, content creation, or even relationships, the people who succeed are those who keep going even when results aren’t immediate.

So whatever you’re working on, stay consistent, keep learning, and trust the process. Success will come

Happy sunday guys ❤️❤️❤️
