Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, a man whose name is inseparable from our nation’s long and unfinished journey toward freedom, justice, and dignity.
Raila was not merely a political figure; he was an idea, a living testament to endurance, conviction, and the audacity to dream of a Kenya that works for all her people. For over four decades, he stood at the intersection of courage and sacrifice, often at great personal cost, challenging oppression and insisting that power must be accountable to the people.
In the hearts of many, Baba was more than a leader; he was a mirror reflecting both our aspirations and our anxieties as a nation struggling to define itself. He inspired generations to speak truth to power, to believe that democracy is not a gift from the elite but a right earned and guarded by the people.
As we reflect on his passing, we are reminded that Raila’s legacy does not belong to one political camp or region it belongs to Kenya. His journey compels us to ask: what kind of nation do we wish to become, and what sacrifices are we willing to make to get there?
In honouring Raila Amolo Odinga, we honour the spirit of resistance, the resilience of hope, and the belief that Kenya can and must be better.
Rest well, Baba. Your struggle lit a path that generations will continue to walk
