Broken Mods in The Sims 4?

When The Sims 4 has an official update, you may discover that many of your mods and custom content may have broken.

Why does it happen and how do you fix it?

Using unofficial or unregulated modifications in your game can sometimes lead to complications - especially when a new official update is released. Mods are created by independent creators who are not affiliated with EA or the official Sims development team. Because of this, mod compatibility with the latest game version isn't guaranteed and often depends on whether or when the creator decides to update their work. If at all.

It’s important to understand that mod updates can take varying amounts of time - sometimes they’re available within hours, other times it may take several days or even longer. Sometimes they are never updated.

Since modding is typically a passion project for creators, updates may not be immediate or consistent across the board.

To ensure the smoothest gameplay experience don’t use mods.

If you do choose to use mods it's a good idea to keep track of where you originally downloaded them from. Revisit those sites or creator pages regularly, especially after a game update, to check if a newer version of the mod has been released that will be compatible with the new version of the game. Staying informed can help you avoid potential issues and maintain the best performance for your game.

Ultimately, while mods can greatly enhance your game, they do come with a bit of risk and responsibility - so a little vigilance goes a long way.

- Strange Tales of the Plague: A mysterious illness is turning the people of Armadillo into the undead. Retrieve infected corpses for study while fending off cultists.

Update: Connected to Internet finally

These past few weeks have been like pulling teeth with our internet provider after our home move.

So, we went nearly three weeks with zero home internet - literally no signal, and three failed visits from our provider “S”, who we’ve been with for like 16 years. They kept saying, ‘Sorry, no fibre at your address,’ even though the fibre box was already glowing like a power-up right there on the wall.

We couldn’t even go old school with copper lines because apparently, that wasn’t an option anymore. What’s wild is that three different engineers came out, stared at the same box, and went, ‘Yup, that’s definitely fibre.’ Meanwhile, “S” system acted like we were trying to connect from the Upside Down world from Stranger Things.

Then, errors started glitching across our “S” account dashboard, and support basically shrugged and said it might take weeks to fix. Weeks?! On top of the past 16 days! If you work from home you know this is NOT an option and piggybacking off a mobile hotspot using its data is not a realistic suitable method long term.

So I rage-quit “S”, switched to provider “P”, and BAM—five days later, blue light on the router, fibre blazing, and I’m back to gaming, streaming and
creating without lag. “P” is cheaper too. GG.

Now please excuse me while I go get my literally pulled out at the dentist.

A Little Life Update

Hey everyone! I just wanted to give you a quick update on what’s been going on behind the scenes.
So, since June 6th, I’ve been in the middle of moving house—super exciting, but also a bit chaotic. Fast forward 16 days and… I still don’t have a proper internet connection. Not ideal. I had to upgrade my mobile plan just to hotspot my way through the basics on my PC using unlimited mobile data.

As you’ve probably guessed, I haven’t been able to do any editing or uploading since the move. That said, new content is still going live on my channel because—thankfully—past me had the foresight to record and schedule over 70 videos before the chaos kicked in. Honestly, I owe her a cupcake or something.

Here’s what happened: the internet provider I’d been with for over 16 years had a mix-up on their system and basically couldn’t offer service at the new address. So I’ve switched providers and, fingers crossed, I should be back online with full fibre by June 25th (fourth time is the charm).

Which leads to the next bit… I’ll also be at the dentist that same day, getting two wisdom teeth removed. So, while I’ll technically have internet again, I probably won’t be doing much editing or more so - TALKING - while I’m recovering.

Luckily, I’ve got pre-recorded content all ready to go, so uploads won’t be interrupted. Thanks so much for sticking with me—it means the world. Once everything settles, I’ll tell you the full story behind this little adventure.
