⭐Flashback Friday ⭐
It’s truly fascinating what treasures can be uncovered online - especially old documents and vintage adverts. This piece comes from Toys R Us, a beloved retailer founded in 1957. Though the company sadly closed its doors in 2018, every so often, a little piece of its legacy resurfaces - like this charming catalogue advert from around 1986.
Featured in the ad:
- Sega Master System – £99.99
- Sega Games – £29.99 each
- Choplifter
- Black Belt
- Pro Wrestling
- Rambo
Also highlighted is a nostalgic bundle for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), priced at £139.97, which included:
- NES Console
- ROB the Robot playmate
- Control Deck
- Two Controllers
- Light Gun
- Two Games: Duck Hunt and Gyromite
While I hear you - ONLY £99.99 and ONLY £139.97 that's in money from 1988. If that was today (due to inflation the Sega Master System priced at £99.99, today would cost the equivalent of £280 and the NES bundle would be around £393. Games would be around £85
A delightful glimpse into gaming history - does this spark any childhood memories for you?
