Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated with gaiety, religious fervor in Bhaderwah
BHADERWAH : Eid-ul-Fitr marking the culmination of fasting month of Ramdhan was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety in Bhaderwah here today. All the mosques were fully decorated and markets witnessed huge rush of people purchasing sweets, gifts, clothes and exchanging Eid greetings with each other. There was a huge rush of people at central Eidgah Bhaderwah to offer Eid prayers this morning where thousands of Muslims offered Eid-ul-Fitr Nimaz and arrangement in Eidgah was made by Anjuman Islamia Bhaderwah . The members of Muslim community attired in white dress were seen from the morning exchanging Eid greetings to each other and members of other communities. The children were busy in getting Eidi from their elders. Flag hoisting ceremony of Islamic flag was also held on the occasion .

DLSA Bhaderwah organises programme on `World Health Day'
BHADERWAH, April 7 ---- The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bhaderwah in collaboration with Sub District Hospital Bhaderwah observed “World Health Day” in the premises of Crescent Public School Bhaderwah here today . Block Medical Officer Bhaderwah Dr Ashraf was the chief guest on the occasion while Dr Mohd Iqbal Rtd principal GDC Bhaderwah , Advocate Mohd Majid Malik ,and Dr Amir Malik was the guest of honor on the occasion.Besides doctors, staff and paramedical students were present on the occasion .On the occasion the resource person Adv Mohd Majid Malik highlighted the importance of World Health Day and said, “A person can survive without excess money but cannot survive without good health. Health is the relationship between you and your body and ‘he who has hope has everything’. Right to health is a part and parcel of Right to Life and therefore right to health is a fundamental right guaranteed to every citizen of India under Article-21 of the constitution of India. We should start a change by conserving the environment because our health system totally depends upon the environment. Adv Mohd Majid Malik informed that in 1948, countries of the world came together and founded WHO to promote health, keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable – so everyone, everywhere can attain the highest level of health and well-being. WHO’s 75th anniversary year is an opportunity to look back at public health successes that have improved quality of life during the last seven decades. It is also an opportunity to motivate action to tackle the health challenges of today and tomorrow. He said the theme for the World Health Day 2023 is "Health For All." The aim of the theme is to create an opportunity for the world to look back at public health successes that have helped improve the quality of life over the past 70 years. The theme also calls on the world to take required actions which can help tackle health challenges today and tomorrow, the world health body said.All PLVs of DLSA were also present on the occasion .

Adv Mohd Majid Malik hailed Govt decision for deferring restructuring of R&B Department
BHADERWAH : Prominent Social activist Adv Mohd Majid Malik who is spearheading the movement of District Bhaderwah and is vocal for local issues and one month back written an open letter to Comm Secy R&B and Lt Gov Monaj Sinha requesting to review the reorganisation / restructuring R&B department Bhaderwah has hailed the order of UT Government for deferring the restructuring of the Public Works (R&B) Department by way of re-organisation of cadre and rationalization of jurisdiction of its subordinate and field offices by making them co-terminus with territorial limits of divisions, districts and blocks of the Jammu and Kashmir.Adv Mohd Majid Malik said that reorganisation and restructuring order was not in the favour of Bhaderwah where people are struggling for District status and when some months back order was issued related to restructuring of R&B and jurisdiction of Bhaderwah division was decreased and some areas/ sub divisions of Bhaderwah were clubbed with other divisions , then he write a open letter to Comm Secy R&B and Lt Gov Monaj Sinha to review the order and keep the sub divisions as it is . He said finally the demand of people of Bhaderwah is accepted by the UT govt and reorganisation of PWD /R&B department is deferred which is in the interest of Bhaderwah . He demanded the UT govt not decrease and cut the R&B jurisdiction of Bhaderwah but extend it in the whole Bhaderwah constituency , Bani and Basoli areas and Municipal limits of Bhaderwah be extended from Sartingal to Sarna and said Bhaderwah Development Authority engineering department should not be abolished . It is notable to mention here that on the issue of reorganisation and restructuring of R&B department political leaders from Bhaderwah remained silent but Majid Malik highlighted and raised the issue and submitted representations to concerned authorities and UT administration .

Unscheduled power cuts continue in Bhaderwah even in Ramadan, allege Social activist
BHADERWAH , Mar 26---- The residents of Bhaderwah and adjoining areas are complaining of unscheduled power cuts especially during Sehri and Iftaar timings. Locals Prominent Social activist Adv Mohd Majid Malik said that authorities had assured people of providing all facilities in the month of Ramadan but in Bhaderwah and adjoining areas they have been resorting to unscheduled power cuts and till date schedule is also not chnage which was framed for winter .‘The situation is creating problems for the residents,” he said.“Unscheduled cuts during Ramadan have increased manifold and claims of authorities on ground are proving a hoax and concerned department should immediately change the winter framed schedule ,” he added and demanded transmission line from Pul Doda to Bhaderwah and immediate construction of grid station in Bhaderwah which is approved by UT govt .Majid Malik said that PDD authorities have failed to mitigate the power crisis in Bhaderwah as power cuts were witnessed continuously during the holy month of Ramadan.He said that people are facing hardships with each passing day, but no power schedule is being followed by the department. He sought immediate attention of higher ups into the matter and demanded an end to power cuts and also criticized political leaders of Bhaderwah for watching people suffering as mute spectator .

3 day training programme on Early Detection of Drug Abuse & post Detection Management began at Bhaderwah
BHADERWAH , March 21--- Social Welfare Department today organized a three days training programme on Early Detection of Drug Abuse and Post Detection management at Community hall Bhaderwah here today . The programme was conducted in cooperation and active participation of students of various schools , parents , civil society members and PRIs under the overall supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Doda Tariq Ahmed .Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah , Dil Mir was the Chief Guest on the occasion where as Advocate Mohd Majid Malik , Educationist Arif Rana , President JOB Tahir Nadeem Khan , Sudesh Manhas , Arun Raina , Zubair Wani , Dharam Pal Gupta and staff of social welfare department was also present .During the programme, DSWO Tariq Ahmed presented a welcome address and highlighted different issues associated with drug Abuse. During the session, ADC Bhaderwah Dil Mir and resource persons from Mission Youth J&K spoke on early identification, treatment, rehabilitation, after-care and social reintegration techniques and other different issues associated with drug Abuse. Advocate Mohd Majid Malik informed that the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, commonly referred to as the NDPS Act, is an Act of the Parliament of India that prohibits a person the production/manufacturing/cultivation, possession, sale, purchasing, transport, storage, and/or consumption of any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance. He also informed that the bail is treated differently in narcotics cases than it is in general. Generally, bail is a rule and jail belongs to the exception category, whereas, in cases of NDPS, jail belongs to the rule category and bail belongs to the exception category, he added and said that section 37 of the NDPS Act deals with the issue of cognizable and non-bailable offences. In Section 27 of the NDPS Act, it is stated that all offences punishable under the Act are cognizable and that no person accused of an offence punishable under the Act will be released on bail or his bail unless certain conditions are met. This section applies to offences under Section 19 or Section 24 or Section 27A and also to offences that involve commercial quantity. Advocate Mohd Majid Malik said Section 20 of the NDPS Act lays out the punishment for the production, manufacture, sale, purchase, import and inter-state export of cannabis, as defined in the Act. The prescribed punishment is based on the amount of drugs seized.Under the Act, property acquired by a person from drug-related offences, who has been convicted under the Act can be seized, frozen and forfeited by the government, he added .
