She is always on her best and well informed. This was very educational for me. At the maximum lines the Sokar Eclipse will bring complete darkness because the apparent size of the moon in the sky will be bigger than that of the sun. There was one problem on the day of the South African Total Solar Eclipse in 2002 and that is that it was cloudy. The visibility of the sun was therefore limited. But the effects of the Eclipse would of course be visible. The maxima of the Eclipse would scour past the northern parts of the country just below the border with Zimbabwe. Quite a crowd gathered at this spot near Tshipise and the ground was prepared.
Time for the Eclipse at Musina/Tshipise was put at 08:20 SAST (UTC+2). Watch the progression towards that time and how the people responded and also how the cars on the road suddenly had to turn on their headlights.

This is how I bury my head in the sand to escape. Grab my camera and go for a walk and take a photo or two. Even tthough I have taken the same scene many times before. But today is a nice clear day and was good for pictures. And my CCD has some dust on it and I am too lazy to edit it out. Life is dust.
