*President Tinubu Assures A’Ibom of Continued Support and Development*

…As Senate President, Governor Eno, and Two Akwa Ibom Senators Visit the President*

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the continued development of Akwa Ibom State, assuring that the Federal Government will work closely with the state in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda and the state’s ARISE Agenda.

The President gave the assurance on Friday, July 18, 2025, when he received in audience the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio; Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno; and two senators from the state , Senator Aniekan Akpan and Senator Ekong Sampson.

President Tinubu emphasized his dedication to inclusive national development and praised Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda as a strategic complement to the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The visit also featured the formal presentation of Senators Aniekan Akpan and Ekong Sampson, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In addition, the delegation used the occasion to commiserate with the President on the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing his death as a national loss and acknowledging his legacy in strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.

Episode 1: The Farewell Oath

The golden rays of the evening sun painted the quiet town of Enugu in hues of nostalgia as Emmanuel sat with Deborah beneath the old mango tree that had witnessed every chapter of their love story. They had laughed there, fought there, and now they were crying there. Emmanuel had just received his visa to study medicine abroad, a dream he had nurtured since childhood. But what was once a dream now felt like a death sentence to his heart. He would be gone for seven long years, and the thought of being away from Deborah was more painful than anything he had imagined.

Deborah, ever soft-spoken and graceful, clutched his hands tightly. “Will you forget me?” she asked with a quivering voice, as tears lined her eyes. Emmanuel looked deep into her soul and shook his head. “Never,” he whispered. “I love you, Deborah. And I make this vow tonight: I will never touch another woman, never cheat, never entertain any thought of unfaithfulness. If I ever break this vow—may my life end that day.” His words were heavy, sacred, carried by a heart full of sincerity. The wind around them seemed to pause in reverence.

Deborah broke into sobs, leaning into his chest as he held her. That night, they sat in silence under the stars, letting their hearts speak the words their mouths could no longer form. She promised to wait. He promised to return. And beneath that quiet sky, a vow was made—one that would shape the rest of their lives in ways neither of them could have ever foreseen.

Gov Eno Increases State Allowance for Corps Members from N5,000 to ₦20,000 Monthly*

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has approved an increase in the monthly state allowance for NYSC members serving in the state from N5,000 to ₦20,000 with effect from August 1st, 2025.

The Governor made this announcement during Day Two of the State Delivery Meeting, held today, Friday, July 4, 2025, at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Uyo.

He explained that the increment is to support the Federal Government’s ₦77,000 monthly allowance, helping corps members meet their basic needs.
“Over 10,000 corps members are posted to Akwa Ibom annually. We must continue to encourage and support them,” the Governor said .

This development follows his recent approval for the reconstruction of the NYSC Orientation Camp at Ikot Itie Idung in Nsit Atai, as part of ongoing efforts to improve the welfare of corps members in the state.

Established in 1973, the National Youth Service Corps is a one-year compulsory service scheme for Nigerian graduates below the age of 30. It was created to foster national integration, unity, and development by deploying young graduates to states outside their region of origin for community service, education, and nation-building efforts.

Akwa Ibom State has remained one of the most welcoming and safest destinations for NYSC members, with corps members actively contributing to sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and rural development.

With this latest move, Governor Eno continues to demonstrate a leadership style anchored on compassion, inclusiveness, and strategic support for the next generation.

BREAKING: Atiku, former Senate President David Mark, Secondus, Lamido, and other PDP leaders are currently holding a high-level, closed-door critical meeting in Abuja.

The meeting, which is being held at Transcorp Hilton Hotel is focused on determining whether the PDP leaders will fully integrate into the proposed 2027 coalition party or maintain their positions within the party while forming an electoral alliance.

In addition to Atiku and Lamido, other PDP stalwarts present at the meeting include a former PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, ex-Governors Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Liyel Imoke (Cross River), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), and Sam Egwu (Ebonyi).

Other PDP figures in attendance include Senator Ben Obi, former PDP National Women Leader Josephine Anenih, former National Organising Secretary Senator Austin Akobundu, ex-National Publicity Secretary Kola Ologbondiyan, and former National Youth Leader Abdullahi Maibasira, among others.
