This film explores Kensington Market, and its transition from being the capital of Toronto as "People City" to a skirmish site as developers and speculators push it closer to Property City. The film includes a journey through the market, meeting folks, getting 160 years of its back story, and then seeing the early gentrification and development pressure impacting the community.
A screening for the film will take place on Friday June 20, 2025, at 6:45 p.m. and is being sponsored by the Kensington Market Community Land Trust. There will be a panel discussion following, including Dominique Russell from KMCLT.
