AMU Faculty and Students Author Trilingual Book on Learning Chinese

ALIGARH, September 13: Dr Md Yasin, Assistant Professor of Chinese, Department of Foreign Languages, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), together with two M.A. final-year students, Md Aminul Hasan Sk and Aliya Iqbal Khan, have authored a new book titled Unlock Chinese: A Simple Way Through English, Hindi & Bengali.

The book, published by the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Publications Division, is designed for beginners and intermediate learners, and introduces the Chinese language and culture through a trilingual approach in English, Hindi, and Bengali. It covers pronunciation (Pinyin system), essential grammar, and situational conversations to help learners gain practical communication skills.

The publication aligns with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which promotes multilingualism and the use of Indian languages in education. By offering explanations in Hindi and Bengali alongside English, the book seeks to make Chinese more accessible to Indian learners and language enthusiasts.

The attention of the AMU administration is needed.

Two stones from the outside and one stone from the inside of Bab Syed, named after the founder of Aligarh Muslim University and Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, have been missing for years, despite which the university administration is not paying attention.

Of course, if these stones had fallen from the gate of the Vice Chancellor or Registrar's Lodge, they would have been repaired overnight, but now it seems that the university does not care about this ugly-looking gate.

While leaving one stone with the other stones is inviting a major accident.

बाब-ए-सैयद पर धरना दे रहे विद्यार्थियों को बिरयानी बांटी गई। कुछ विद्यार्थियों ने बिरयानी की प्लेट सुरक्षाकर्मियों और प्रॉक्टोरियल टीम को भेजी लेकिन उन्होंने लेने से इन्कार कर दिया।
एएमयू में छात्र-छात्राओं के आंदोलन को अलीगढ़ ही नहीं बल्कि कुवैत, अमेरिका, सऊदी अरब में रह रहे पूर्व छात्रों का समर्थन मिलने लगा है। सुप्रीम कोर्ट के अधिवक्ता व छात्रसंघ के पूर्व अध्यक्ष मोहम्मद इरशाद अहमद, एएमयू ओल्ड बॉयज एसोसिएशन, पटना विवि छात्रसंघ की महासचिव सलोनी राज ने भी समर्थन दिया है।
इरशाद अहमद ने कुलपति को पत्र लिखकर विश्वविद्यालय इंतजामिया से संस्था की समृद्ध विरासत और मूल्यों की रक्षा करने का आग्रह किया है। छात्रों के साथ खुलकर संवाद करने, मतभेदों का सौहार्दपूर्ण समाधान निकालने और एएमयू के एतिहासिक मूल्यों को उचित महत्व देने की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि एएमयू जैसे संस्थान तभी फल-फूल सकते हैं जब छात्रों की आवाज सुनी जाए।

एएमयू ओल्ड बॉयज एसोसिएशन के महासचिव डॉ. आजम मीर खान ने कहा कि सेंट्रल एग्जीक्यूटिव कमेटी ने शुक्रवार की घटना की कड़ी निंदा करती है जिसमें शांतिपूर्ण प्रदर्शनकारियों पर पुलिस कार्रवाई की गई। यह हमारे संस्थान की संस्कृति और लोकाचार के विरुद्ध है। कुलपति को विद्यार्थियों की जायज मांगों पर सहानुभूतिपूर्वक विचार करना चाहिए।
पटना विश्वविद्यालय, बिहार छात्रसंघ की महासचिव सलोनी राज ने कहा कि वह एएमयू में शुल्क वृद्धि के विरोध में प्रदर्शन कर रहे विद्यार्थियों को समर्थन में देती हैं। देश के कई केंद्रीय और राज्य विश्वविद्यालयों में एक दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण धारणा पनप रही है। सरकार के इशारे पर गरीब और वंचित छात्रों को उच्च शिक्षा से दूर करने के लिए मनमाने ढंग से शुल्क वृद्धि की जा रही है।
एएमयू ओल्ड बॉयज एसोसिएशन रियाद सऊदी अरब के अध्यक्ष डॉ. इनामउल्लाह बेग ने भी कुलपति को पत्र भेजकर पुलिस कार्रवाई की निंदा की है। एएमयू छात्रसंघ के पूर्व उपाध्यक्ष सैयद मसूद उल हसन ने शुक्रवार की घटना का जिम्मेदार प्रॉक्टर को बताया। सैयद मसूद ने कहा कि भाजपा के इशारों पर नाचना बंद करें। दैनिक कर्मचारी एसोसिएशन एएमयू के आफाक अहमद खान, सैयद मुजम्मिल अली, गुलाम साबरी, मोहम्मद जियाउद्दीन, राहुल कुमार ने कहा कि वह विद्यार्थियों के साथ हैं।
