This summer, The Village Theatre, in partnership with B & E Productions, will present a night of dark, twisted, and absurd one-acts from the mind of humorist Dennis DiClaudio.

Rehearsals will be at Village Theatre. Exact times TBD based upon cast availability. But please note that most rehearsals will take place during the following blocks between April 29 – May 30:

6-10 comedic performers of all genders, ethnicities, and backgrounds, including 2 understudy/utility players.

Dennis DiClaudio is the author of four books of humor (https://amzn.to/2Us1FDv) and is currently working on his first full-length novel. He is a regular contributor to The AV Club and has written for The Onion, Someecards and Comedy Central’s Indecision. His plays have been produced in Philadelphia, New York, and Mississippi.
Michael J. Ewing has been acting, improvising, teaching, and directing for more than twenty years. Favorite roles as an actor include Macbeth in Macbeth (Oxford Shakespeare Festival, Oxford, MS), Trigorin in The Cherry Orchard (Playhouse on the Square, Memphis, TN), Jonathan in Wintertime (Wilma Theatre, Phila, PA), and Rev. John Wilson in Free Man of Color (Hattiloo Theatre, Memphis, TN). He has also spent five years teaching at the university level: One year teaching religion at Manhattan College, three years teaching theatre at The University of Mississippi, and four years both teaching & directing mainstage productions at Delta State University (Cleveland, MS). Highlights at DSU included These Shining Lives, The Bald Soprano, and The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. He has also directed the short film, Last Night, based on Mr. DiClaudio’s script of the same name and featured at the Oxford, Tupelo, and Buffalo-Niagara Film Festivals. Since moving to Atlanta he has appeared on Sleepy Hollow, To Catch a Killer, and The Resident. He is a VT company member and part of Sunday Company, Five Points Forgotten, and the newly formed Graffiti Sketch Team.
Bastek and Ewing (B and E) Productions was created in the early spring of 2019 when two creative guys who had traveled on their own path for a while, came together and figured out that they were from the same dirt. Tom Bastek, a veteran of performance and production, and Michael Ewing, a veteran of performance and directing, have combined their skills with the desire of bringing fun and different entertainment forward.
The Village Theatre has been presenting live comedy for over ten years in the Old Forth Ward. They currently offer over 28 shows a week, including improv, sketch, standup, and scripted work. They also host The Atlanta Improv Festival which is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, running April 25-27, 2019.
