The Rerow Muhammud family has endorsed Zeynah Shale Sheikh Jimale to vie for the California MCA seat, marking a significant step in her political journey.

Jimale received the family’s backing during an endorsement event held yesterday at Decale Hotel in Eastleigh, Nairobi, where family members pledged to support her campaign and mobilise votes among California residents.

Her candidacy is being viewed as a milestone for the family, with Jimale becoming the first member to openly pursue such a political ambition.

The endorsement has also been described as a significant moment for young women seeking leadership opportunities, with the family urging them not to be held back by traditional
expectations or where they come from.
Family members said they would continue supporting Jimale as she seeks to build a strong campaign ahead of the elections.

Sometimes, the most memorable moments at community gatherings happen away from the speeches.

During the recently concluded Rerow Muhammud family consultative meeting and Qur'an recitation, Wajir West parliamentary aspirant Ahmed Nasir was welcomed warmly by members of the family. But it was his simple interactions with ordinary attendees that caught many people's attention.

Rather than limiting himself to formal greetings, Ahmed Nasir spent time chatting with women from the family, exchanging smiles and listening to their views. The brief but genuine conversations reflected a sense of humility and approachability that many attendees appreciated.

As families came together for prayers, consultation, and fellowship, the gathering served as a reminder that strong community ties are built not only through public addresses but also through meaningful personal connections.
