Japan's National Police Agency received two Airbus H160 helicopters, becoming the country's first para-public operator. www.airbus.com

The National Police Agency (NPA) of Japan has taken delivery of two Airbus H160 helicopters, making it the first para-public operator of the type in Japan. The first H160 was delivered at the end of last year, with the second delivery in January.

“We are very proud of the delivery of the first public service version of the H160 to our long-standing customer in Japan. This is the culmination of two years of outstanding work and dedication of the teams in France and Japan,” said Jean-Luc Alfonsi, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters in Japan. “The unique capabilities of these brand-new aircraft will contribute to expanding the envelope of the NPA’s wide-ranging law enforcement missions.”

After an official meeting with the Prime Minister of Thailand, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, at the Government House, Infineon's Chief Operations Officer Dr. Rutger Wijburg launched the construction of the new fab today.

The first building is planned to be ready for operations at the beginning of 2026. Further ramp-up will be managed flexibly in line with market demand. For 2025, all expenditures of the new site are already included in the Capex projections of the company. The project is supported by the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI). The highly automated fab will play a crucial role in diversifying Infineon's manufacturing landscape as global decarbonization and climate protection efforts drive demand for power modules, e.g. in industrial applications and renewables.

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore joint business in selected defense and space fields with Bengaluru-based Bharat Electronics Limited, a leading manufacturer of defense electronics and public systems under the Indian Ministry of Defence, and Bengaluru-based MEMCO Associates (India) Private Limited, a marketing and contract representative of Mitsubishi Electric in India.

The MOU envisages identifying opportunities for the manufacture and supply of customized components for defense and space products, such as modules for shipborne and airborne radars, electronic warfare systems, and space situational awareness systems.
