It is not often that Youth riders get to do a stage race but that is what they got last weekend. Organised by David Feiven with help from Solihull CC members there was a time trial and circuit race on Saturday at Tudor Grange. This was followed by a longer circuit race at the Jaguar Land Rover test track. Some riders travelled a long way to take part. Full gallery at https://www.mikeadamsphotography.biz/Cycling/Road
A very warm evening for the riders at Tudor Grange this week for the No Frills race for 3/4 cat riders. A break of 4 with 2 Solihull riders went clear and later lapped the field. The with about 15 minutes of the hour to go Dave Fellows took off from the break to lap the bunch a second time and earn a solo victory. Team mate Stuart Jamieson then won the sprint for second place making it a Solihull C.C. 1 2. After delays due to groundworks on the circuit the Solihull No Frills circuit races are back on. This was the 2/3/4 category event which was run at a very fast pace in the blustery conditions with 62 laps covered in the hour plus 5 laps. Solihull No Frills No.4 - Despite the blustery conditions it was another fast race with numerous attacks but nothing stuck until Curtis Maltby got away with a few laps to go and held off the chasers by a few seconds on the line. Perfect weather for the first event in the Solihull CC No Frills series of races at Tudor Grange. The riders responded with one of the fastest races on this circuit with average lap time of 1 minute for the 1 hour race.
