Brahmaputra river erosion at Airkata and Ohab Bazar has become a serious problem for local residents. Every year, large portions of land are washed away, destroying homes, farmlands, and livelihoods. Many families are forced to migrate, leaving behind their ancestral lands. The erosion is also damaging roads and public infrastructure, cutting off access to nearby villages. Despite repeated appeals, proper embankments and preventive measures are still lacking. If urgent steps aren't taken, the situation will worsen, putting more lives and property at risk.
