The apex is the point where a motorcycle is closest to the inside of a corner while still remaining in its lane. It's also known as the clipping point.
Here are some tips for learning the apex when riding a motorcycle:
Look ahead
Look into the space you want to go, and then move your eyes forward to track the curb as you get deeper into the corner. This will help you judge your entry line and when the apex will appear.
Don't apex too early
Many riders apex too early, which can feel safer but can lead to a dangerous situation. Apexing too early forces a sharper turn near the end of the corner, which can cause you to end up in the oncoming lane.
Use the apex to increase throttle
Once you've hit the apex, you can reduce steering lock and increase throttle. You can also start to reduce the lean angle of the bike.
Consider the type of apex
There are three basic types of apexes: early, normal, and late. The safety of each type varies depending on the situation
