Exclusive! Capezio has acquired key assets of Discount Dance Supply—one of the biggest moves in the dancewear industry this year.

The deal includes DDS’s e-commerce operations, select inventory, and customer programs, and follows Capezio’s own acquisition by private equity firm Argand Partners earlier in 2025. Together, the two brands aim to expand product options and enhance fulfillment for dancers and retailers alike.

Capezio CEO Michael Terlizzi calls it an “industry uptick where everybody wins,” while DDS president Amanda Pritchett says the partnership is about “becoming better together.”

🩰✨ Fashion house Reiss and the Royal Ballet And Opera have teamed up to create a 60-piece collection inspired by ballet’s artistry and grace. From tutu-inspired skirts to ballet pink hues, this line blends modern fashion with the world of dance—and dance retailers should take note.

While it’s exclusively available on Reiss' website and in select stores globally—so not something independant dance stores can expect to stock anytime soon—this collaboration highlights the growing interest in dance-inspired style beyond the studio.

🕵️ Retailers should be ready to welcome new customers off the back of this trend, and consider how they can leverage it to attract a broader audience.
