๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š | Campus Year-End Party 2025

The Year-End Party 2025, titled โ€œDiwa ng Pasko: Pagdiriwang ng Sining at Tradisyonโ€ with the theme โ€œWinterlight: A Tapestry of Talent and Tradition Through Unlocking the Lights Within,โ€ was held on December 22, 2025.

One of the highlights of the program was the MAGPASIKAT Dance Competition, where BS Business Administration emerged as Champion, marking a back-to-back win. BS Hospitality Management placed First Runner-Up, while BS Criminology secured Second Runner-Up.

Another major highlight was the Big Parol Competition, with the design theme โ€œReflection of Traditional Filipino Aesthetic.โ€ BS Agriculture won Champion, also achieving a back-to-back title, followed by BS Criminology as First Runner-Up and BS Hospitality Management as Second Runner-Up.

The celebration highlighted studentsโ€™ creativity and talents while promoting Filipino culture, leaving participants with memorable experiences of camaraderie and holiday spirit.

The long-awaited NORSU Night lit up the Mabinay Lingganay Stage on December 21, 2025, as students of NORSU Mabinay Campus showcased their talents with creativity, passion, and uniqueness.

With the theme "A night of Talent, Joy, and Unity: Celebrating Christmas the NORSU way", nine colleges took the stage, filling the night with energy, excitement, and outstanding performances that entertained and inspired the crowd.

Indeed, it was a fun, exciting, and unforgettable celebration of talent an evening that truly set the stage on fire.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š |18-DAY CAMPAIGN TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN (EVAW)

The NORSU-Mabinay Campus marked the culmination of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women on December 12, 2025, at the Campus Covered Court. This yearโ€™s observance carried the theme โ€œUnited for a VAW-Free Philippines: Stop VAW and Look Beyond Silence, and Listen with Compassion.โ€

Guest speaker Professor Jill Rose P. Ador led the discussion, highlighting the importance of RA 9262 in protecting women and children and emphasizing its vital role in building a violence-free community. Her talk gave students a deeper understanding of their legal rights, the different forms of abuse under the law, and the proper steps to take when seeking assistance or reporting incidents.

The event concluded with the awarding of the campaign bulletin board and poster-making contest, showcasing the Norsuniansโ€™ creativity and advocacy as part of the culmination of the 18-day campaign to end violence against women.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š | HARVEST FESTIVAL 2025: Honoring Student Dedication and a Successful Harvest

The College of Agriculture at Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) Mabinay Campus proudly launched its Annual Harvest Festival 2025 with the theme Growing More with Less: Small Pots, Big Harvest. The event featured keynote speakers Mr. Jethro Gwyn O. Elum of the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) and Mr. Remar B. Titong of the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA), who shared meaningful perspectives on sustainable agriculture and industry trends.

The event was further strengthened by the presence of VIP guests from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Mabinay, led by Municipal Mayor Hon. Ernie T. Uy along with other municipal officials. Their support, together with the unwavering leadership of Prof. Faith B. Patay, Program Chair of the College of Agriculture, contributed greatly to the success of the festival's activities.

The celebration also highlighted the cultural richness of the community through the Palihi Dance, a traditional performance symbolizing gratitude and blessings for a bountiful harvest. Above all, the festival honored the hard work and dedication of Agriculture students as they proudly showcased the fruits of their laborโ€”demonstrating skill, perseverance, and the true essence of agricultural learning.

NORSU Mabinay conducted a Mental Health Awareness Workshop-Orientation on November 26, 2025, at 2:00 PM, spearheaded by the NORSU Mabinay Care Office. The session highlighted that emotions matter, health matters, and mind matters.

Prof. Karen T. Perater, Sir Edmark S. Requinto, RPM, and Maโ€™am Stacy Kaye A. Socorro, RPm shared meaningful insights, coping strategies, and reminders that mental health is not a joke,itโ€™s a serious matter we must take care of.

NORSU-Mabinay formally launched the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women on November 26, 2025, at the Campus Covered Court. With the theme โ€œUnited for a VAW-Free Philippines,โ€ the event highlighted the opening program, the presentation of candidates for this year's Ambassadress and Ambassador who will serve as youth advocates in promoting safety, respect, and gender equality on campus and a Poster Making Contest participated in by students from various year levels and programs, showcasing their creativity and commitment to raising awareness against VAW.
