In light of the upcoming Ludhiana West Assembly by-election, authorities have announced a Dry Day in the region to ensure a free and fair electoral process. The sale, purchase, and distribution of alcohol will be strictly prohibited from 6 PM on June 17 until 6 PM on June 19, coinciding with the polling schedule.

Additionally, a second dry day has been declared on June 23, the day of counting.

This restriction will be enforced not only within the Ludhiana West Assembly Constituency but also in all adjoining areas falling within a 3-kilometer radius of the constituency limits.

All liquor shops, bars, and establishments serving alcohol are directed to remain shut during these periods. Authorities warn of strict action against any violations.

पंजाब नैशनल बैंक ने मनाया अपना 131 वां स्थापना दिवस

देश का अग्रणी बैंक, पंजाब नैशनल बैंक 12 अप्रैल 2025 को अपना 131 वां स्थापना दिवस मनाने जा रहा है।
इस विशेष दिन को और विशेष बनाते हुए बैंक के अधिकारी संगठन एआईपीएनबीओए की लुधियाना यूनिट द्वारा बैंक के स्टाफ सदस्यों के सहयोग से फिरोजपुर रोड स्थित कार्यालय प्रांगण में ही रक्तदान शिविर का आयोजन किया जिसमें 100 से भी अधिक स्दस्यों ने रक्तदान कर समाज सेवा का बेहतरीन उदाहरण पेश किया। फोर्टिस अस्पताल,लुधियाना द्वारा रक्तदान शिविर हेतु अपना चिकित्सीय एवम् संसाधनपरक सहयोग प्रदान किया गया।

स्थापना दिवस की पूर्व संध्या पर आयोजित रक्तदान शिविर में प्रतिभागियों का उत्साहवर्धन करते सहायक महासचिव. एआईपीएनबीओए लुधियाना अंचल रोहित कक्कड़ ने कहा कि वर्ष 1895 में लाला लाजपत राय जी द्वारा लाहौर के अनारकली बाजार में एक पूर्णतः स्वदेशी बैंक का ख्वाब देखा था, जोकि आज 130 वर्ष के पश्चात अब एक वट वृक्ष के रूप में भारत के साथ-साथ विदेशों में भी अपनी बेहतरीन सेवाएं प्रदान कर रहा है। श्री रोहित ने आगे कहा कि बैंक ने अपने 131 वर्ष के सफर में बहुत सी ऐतिहासिक घटनाओं का गवाह रहा है। जहां देश को स्वतंत्रता मिलने का यह गवाह है वहीं राष्ट्रीयकरण के पश्चात बैंकों का विस्तृत पटल पर सेवाएं प्रदान करने भी साक्षी बना है। 131 वर्षों के दौरान बैंक ने जहां ग्राहकों का भरोसा जीता है वहीं अपनी सेवाओं से यह उनका पसंदीदा बैंक बन कर भी उभरा है।

आज आयोजित रक्तदान शिविर में स्टाफ सदस्यों ने मानवता की भलाई हेतु रक्तदान कर उसी परिपाटी को आगे बढ़ाया है।
रोहित कक्कड़ ने सभी रक्तदान कर्ताओं का आभार व्यक्त करते हुए इसी उत्साह के साथ बैंक,समाज एवं देश सेवा में जुटे रहना है।

रक्तदान शिविर का उद्घाटन लुधियाना अंचल प्रबंधक श्री परमेश कुमार, एवं उप अंचल प्रबंधक श्री संजीव कपूर, मंडल प्रमुख लुधियाना श्री किशोर चिलाना द्वारा किया गया। इस अवसर एआईपीएनबीओए टीम लुधियाना एवं अध्यक्ष श्री पुरषोत्तम कुमार, शिल्पी कश्यप एवं अंचल, मंडल,जेडएओ एवं शाखाओं से अन्य पदाधिकारी भी उपस्थित रहे।

After over two and a half years of the
Ludhiana horror incident wherein a 2.5-year-old Dilroz was m*rdered, the Ludhiana court on Thursday ordered the d*ath sentence of the murder convict who has been
identified as Neelam. The accused, Neelam (35), who is a resident of the Shimlapuri area in Ludhiana, has been convicted of brutally m*rdering Dilroz Kaur (2), the toddler daughter of her neighbor, Harpreet Singh. As per the police, Neelam had buried Dilroz alive in a pit she dug in the Salem Tabri
area on November 28, 2021.
Police further added that Neelam had planned the toddler's m*rder because of an old rivalry she had with her family. She buried the child alive after digging a pit in a field near Salem Tabri. After burying her alive, the accused
returned home and started behaving as if nothing happened.
However, she was interrogated after police scanned CCTVs and found her taking the girl away on her scooter. During the interrogation, she confessed to the crime she committed.

Deputy commissioner Sakshi Sawhney on Friday ordered the education department to carry out inspections in every school of the district, in response to several complaints related to books and uniforms against the educational institutions.

Sawhney directed them to form special flying squads or committees to examine each school and ensure that all the institutions comply with the guidelines of the Punjab Regulation of Fee of Un-aided Educational Institutions Act, 2016. She further stated that any of the schools found violating the Act must be reported to the Fee Regulation Committee or authority for further action.
