Oyo 2027:
AKK reiterates Commitment to Integrity, Progress on arrival in London

Leading Oyo State governorship aspirant, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK), has reiterated his resolve to usher in a new era of progress and integrity-driven governance as he intensifies consultations ahead of the 2027 Oyo State election.

During a courtesy visit to Harris Academy Bermondsey Hall in London ahead of his upcoming Town Hall Meeting, Book Launch, and Fundraising event scheduled for Saturday, 11th October 2025, Dr. Kareem expressed confidence in his vision to reposition Oyo State through conscience, competence, and compassion.

“Those who have contested before and those who have held political offices in our dear state have played their part in shaping Oyo’s journey,” Dr. Kareem said. “Now is the time for a new vision one rooted in sincerity and service. It is my turn to serve Oyo State with integrity and be a role model for the next generation of leaders.”

Although he has never held a political office, Dr. Kareem has distinguished himself through philanthropy, education, and community development both in Nigeria and abroad. As the Founder of Attaofeequ Billahi International School (ABIS), he has provided scholarships and access to quality education for children from low-income families. Through Attaofeequ Billahi Farms (AB Farm), he has promoted food security, youth engagement, and sustainable agricultural practices across Oyo communities.

A seasoned educator and school leader with the Department of Education in Australia, Dr. Kareem brings international expertise in administration, policy development, and youth empowerment. He has also launched a ₦5 million non-interest loan scheme to support artisans, traders, and small business owners, fostering grassroots entrepreneurship and self-reliance.

Beyond these initiatives, AKK has remained committed to humanitarian work, providing healthcare and welfare support to widows, students, and vulnerable groups. His political movement, the AKK Aseyori Group, now active across all 33 local government areas of Oyo State, serves as a platform for civic education and developmental advocacy.

Dr. Kareem’s London Town Hall Meeting will also feature the launch of his policy blueprint and book, titled “Our Realistic Tomorrow: A Compendium of Hope, Integrity, and Transformation.” The event aims to unite Oyo indigenes in the diaspora, APC members, and community leaders toward a shared vision of sustainable governance.

“My vision for Oyo State is simple,” AKK concluded. “To build a government that listens, a system that works, and a society where every citizen feels seen, supported, and valued. Together, we will make Oyo State truly live up to its name — the Pace Setter’s State.”

Oyo APC Guber Aspirant, Dr. Adewale Kareem, Felicitates Alhaji Olayide Abas at Birthday

Leading All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (popularly known as AKK), has congratulated the Oyo APC Chairman, Alhaji Olayide Moshood Abas, on the occasion of his birthday.

In a goodwill message released on Saturday, Dr. Kareem described Alhaji Abas as “a pillar of progressive ideologies and a rallying point for all party members”, noting that his leadership has united the APC family in Oyo State and strengthened the party’s growth across the state.

“Under your guidance, the APC in Oyo State has witnessed a monumental drive toward attainment and growth, marked by increased acceptance and the influx of dedicated individuals committed to our cause,” Kareem said.

He recalled that the Chairman’s open-door leadership style had facilitated the admission of thousands of new members, including his own Aseyori Support Group, into the party.

Dr. Kareem also commended Alhaji Abas for his ability to balance party leadership with his official role as Board Chairman of the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Kaduna, where he oversees critical healthcare initiatives. According to him, this dual responsibility reflects Abas’ professionalism, discipline, and exceptional capacity for effective stewardship.

“Your ability to harmonise these roles has advanced public health at the federal level and fortified our party’s strength in Oyo State,” Kareem stated.

The APC governorship hopeful prayed for long life, good health, and greater wisdom for the celebrant, while wishing him continued success in his political and professional endeavours.

“Your well-being is a blessing to us all, and I look forward to many more years of your inspiring leadership. Happy birthday, Mr. Chairman, sir,” he added.

Justice for Adeshina: Lagos Island Rises Against Killer NURTW Boss, Shamelon

Lagos Island is in mourning and rage as residents have poured into the streets to protest the tragic death of Adeshina Rahman, a beloved community member who was allegedly beaten to death by notorious National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) strongman, Shamsideen Adio—better known as “Shamelon.”

According to witnesses, Adeshina was mercilessly attacked during a confrontation with Shamelon, suffering devastating head injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he later died from a blood clot doctors directly linked to the savage beating.

The community’s grief has now erupted into fury. Protesters flooded Tapa Street—the very ground where Adeshina was brutalized—chanting “Justice for Adeshina!” and carrying placards denouncing years of violence at the hands of NURTW leaders. Many accused the transport union of acting as untouchable warlords, terrorizing ordinary people without fear of consequences.

“This is not just about Adeshina, this is about every innocent life crushed under the arrogance of those who think they own Lagos Island,” one furious protester told Lagos Reporters. “Adeshina was peaceful. He was one of us. His blood cannot be spilled in vain.”

Community leaders have issued a powerful call to action, demanding that the Lagos State Government and law enforcement immediately arrest and prosecute Shamelon and his accomplices. They warned that continued silence from the authorities will only deepen the people’s anger and fuel unrest.

Yet, as of now, police have not issued a single statement, leaving residents fearful that this tragedy may once again be buried under the rug of impunity.

The people of Lagos Island are clear: Justice delayed will be justice denied. Their voices are rising, their anger is burning, and they vow not to rest until those responsible for Adeshina Rahman’s death are brought to book.

AKK announces Global Diaspora Town Hall Meetings in London, Sydney

By Dayo Badmus

As Nigeria approaches another critical election cycle, one name steadily making waves both at home and abroad is Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem, popularly known as AKK. Widely regarded by supporters as “The Pride of the Righteous of Oyo State,” Kareem is positioning himself as a fresh force within the All Progressives Congress (APC), with his eyes firmly set on the 2027 Oyo State governorship race.

In October 2025, Dr. Kareem will host a series of high-profile diaspora engagements – Town Hall Meetings, a Book Launch, and Fundraising Events – in the United Kingdom and Australia. The UK edition will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Firman Hall, Harris Academy Bermondsey, London, while the Australian edition will follow on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Doonside Community Centre, New South Wales.

Building a Movement Beyond Borders

For Kareem, these events are not just ceremonial gatherings. They represent a deliberate strategy to harness the influence of the Nigerian diaspora, a constituency often overlooked in political mobilization back home. Nigerians abroad contribute billions annually in remittances, and many remain keenly invested in the governance and future of their home states.

“The diaspora is part of the Oyo story,” Kareem noted in his invitation. “These are impactful moments of engagement, vision sharing, and collective support for our mission.”

His message is clear: a call for Nigerians abroad to play a tangible role in shaping the political direction of Oyo State.

The AKK Political Journey

Dr. Kareem’s rise in political consciousness has been rooted in advocacy, grassroots engagement, and a reputation for principled leadership. Though relatively new to frontline partisan politics, he has earned recognition for his outspoken stance on governance, accountability, and the role of morality in public service.

Political observers note that his branding as “The Pride of the Righteous” is more than rhetoric; it is part of a calculated appeal to the moral and cultural fabric of Oyo politics, where character often weighs as heavily as competence.

Unlike some established political figures, Kareem has worked to cultivate an image of accessibility and humility, positioning himself as both a reformist within the APC and a unifier across Oyo’s diverse communities.

A Calculated Diaspora Strategy

Analysts suggest that Kareem’s decision to launch his book and fundraising campaigns abroad is a strategic move aimed at achieving three goals: raising resources, strengthening credibility, and amplifying his message internationally.

Political commentator Adebayo Alabi noted:

“Engaging the diaspora shows foresight. Many of the reforms Kareem advocates—education, healthcare, economic empowerment—require strong partnerships. By building international goodwill, he’s laying the groundwork for a governorship campaign that looks beyond state borders.”

Looking Ahead to 2027

While the 2027 race is still two years away, the maneuverings within Oyo State’s political landscape are already taking shape. The APC, still seeking to consolidate its influence against the PDP stronghold, may find in Kareem a candidate capable of bridging old divides and presenting a modern, reformist agenda.

For his part, Kareem has kept his public messaging rooted in hope and faith. “May God graciously preserve our lives beyond these dates,” he said in his invitation, a reflection of his characteristic blend of politics and spirituality.

As London and Sydney prepare to host these events, one thing is certain: AKK is no longer just a local figure in Oyo politics—he is steadily carving out a global presence that could redefine his path to Agodi Government House in 2027.
