Alhamdullah (Thanks be to Allah) wrapped up an amazing-day workshop at Portland State University (for the second time!) as part of the STARTALK Multilingual Teacher Training Program!

From 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM each day, we dove deep into how to effectively teach world languages, with practical strategies and tools that I can't wait to bring back to my online and in-person classroom.

As someone who teaches Arabic, Kurdish, and English to non-native speakers, this experience has been incredibly valuable and energizing. Always learning, always growing 🌱

Happy Mother’s Day to my incredible mom 💜❤️ I grew up watching my mom do her five daily prayers and kneelings—every single day—for all of my boyhood years until I left home 2014. That’s nearly two decades of witnessing unwavering faith. Even now, she does extra prayers just for me—asking God to protect me while I live far from home. I carry her prayers with me every single day, and I’m so grateful she’s in my life 🧕🏽💜

I also want to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing single women out there who go above and beyond for their kids. Your strength, love, and sacrifices do not go unnoticed.

Happy Mama Day 🙏🏾🥰
