We bring you the latest news from the doom world, reviews of new albums, obscure demos, and classics, interviews, and a very active forum community. The website has been in existence in different forms since the beginning of the decade, and has seen many staff members and designs

come and go. Doom-metal.com first came into being as a merger of The Doom-metal Netguide (previously maintained by Kurt de Meulemeester) and the -metal homepage (previously maintained by Aldo Quispel). Aldo Quispel and John Riendeau, helped by Curt and Kurt, set up the website in its first incarnation. Aldo continued to be the main driving force behind the website until early 2007. After several longer periods of inactivity and internal reorganisations, it was decided that doom-metal.com needed a major overhaul. Aldo resigned as the manager and webmaster, and after a spell with Arnstein Pettersen at the helm, the site was subsequently maintained under the leadership of Giovanni Guarnieri, Bertrand Marchal and Georgia Weidenhof, with the website itself updated and redesigned by Stijn van Cauter. In 2013, Dominik Sonders and Mike Liassides joined the senior staff team, and the following April Bertrand retired as site editor after several years of constant hard work. We hope you will enjoy the current version of the website, and we welcome you into the community.

NEWS - It is with a very sad heart that we inform you of the passing of Allen Lee Scott, of the bands Beneath Oblivion and O***m Doom Cult.

The whole staff send our sincerest condoleances to his family and friends, especially in regard of how this tragedy happened.

Allen was a very friendly guy, with always something interesting to tell either in a chat or through his music.

His sad passing leaves the Doom scene more mournful.

The Hamilton County Coroner's Office has identified a 50-year-old man killed in an Over-the-Rhine shooting that happened on Thursday afternoon.

Still one of my very favourite bands in the blackened Gothic/Doom genre, Australians Elegeion return after a long absence with this full-length video for 'Sombre Skies' from their 2022 album "Plight Of The Heretic". With 3LPs and 3EPs since '97, they've trodden an interesting path along the way, and this is a kind of fitting revisitation of much of that history, as well as adding something new and contemporary.

NEWS - We've got the news today of the passing of Dale Flood, from the US Doom Metal legends UNORTHODOX and ASYLUM.

Starting in the early 80's, he was a pionneer in what would next be known as the "Maryland Sound" and an influence on countless Doom Metal bands worldwide.

The whole team send our most sincères condoleances to his family and friends.
