My Journey: Magnum Flow
Early Life in El Salvador
I was born Egon Martinez in a small village in Santa Ana , El Salvador. Life was simple but filled with challenges. My father was murdered when I was just seven years old, a tragedy that left a lasting impact on my young heart. My mother, seeking a better future, had already moved to Los Angeles, leaving me in the care of my grandmother. She was my rock, providing the love and support I needed during those difficult years.
When I turned twelve, my mother finally managed to bring me to Los Angeles. The transition was tough; I had to learn English, make new friends, and adapt to a completely different lifestyle. Growing up without my parents had taught me to be resilient and self-reliant, and those skills were put to the test in my new environment. I was ready for any fight, literally and figuratively, as I navigated through middle school.
It wasn't until high school, specifically at LA High in 2003, that I discovered my true passion—music. I started writing my own lyrics, pouring my soul into every word. Music became my escape, my way of expressing the emotions I had buried deep inside. After high school, I decided to take my passion seriously. I began booking shows, recording new music, and eventually, my hard work paid off.
Over the years, I performed at some of the most iconic venues in Los Angeles, including the former Staples Center, The Conga Room, The House of Blues Sunset, and The Key Club. I also had the honor of performing at various Latin American festivals and collaborating with numerous talented artists. Opened shows for many artist like Tego Calderon , rakim y ken y, eddy lover , de la guetto etc. My music even made it to the radio, a dream come true for a boy from El Cerrito , El Salvador.
Today, I am a proud father of three wonderful kids. While fatherhood brought new responsibilities, my passion for music never waned. This year, I am making a comeback with over ten new singles and one full album. This project is a collaboration with some incredible producers, including PRU, Chokobeats, and D Cali. You can find my latest music on Spotify, Amazon Music, and iTunes.
My journey has been anything but easy, but every challenge has shaped me into the person I am today. From the small village in El Salvador to the bright lights of Los Angeles, my story is a testament to the power of resilience, passion, and the unwavering support of loved ones. Thank you for being a part of my journey. The best is yet to come.
