We visited the Auditorio Nacional de Madrid on two occasions, for an evening concert performance with choir, soloists and orchestra (no organ), and the next afternoon for a special visit to the Grenzing organ. Before the creation of this arts complex (which also includes a chamber music hall with its own smaller Grenzing organ, sadly unused and not maintained), symphonic concerts took place at the Theatro Real. This was the final 'organ visit' of our tour...with demonstration provided by Andreas Cea and a benediction improvised by our own Merrill N. "Jeff" Davis III.

The Pontifical Basilica of Saint Michael stands adjacent the Archbishop's palace, was constructed between 1739 and 1745, commissioned and subsidized by the (wealthy) Cardinal Infante Luis of Chinchon, Archbishop of Toledo. Boccherini had been buried here, though Mussolini 'repatriated' the composer's remains in 1927 to Lucca.
