AMCN'S Woppa of a night!

The Australian Maronite Community Network التجمع الماروني held last night a very successful Fundraising Dinner at the Concerto Restaurant owned by Miro Chamoun in Wentworth Point.

The highlight of the night was the address given by our guest speaker A/ Professor Charbel Sandroussi who spoke to a packed restaurant about Cancer, with a particular focus on Pancreas Cancer...

AMCN'S President Raymond Abi-Arraj extended a warm welcome to all present including the VIP list: Professor Sandroussi & Mrs Mirna Sandroussi, Richard & Joanna Andary, Julia Finn MP and Cumberland Council Mayor Oula Hamed. He thanked all the generous donors of the raffle prizes: Patrick Nader, Travel 2000, Peter & Joe Sleiman and Camille Batti.

Raymond took time also to brief the guests about how the AMCN evolved nine years ago, from a small circle of good friends to the current hard-working network able to assist the needy and institutions that render benefits to humanity and to our community in particular...

Before the night wrapped up, and in the presence of Board members, Raymond was pleased on behalf of AMCN to present Prof Sandroussi with a $12,000 cheque to the RPA INSTITUTE OF ACADEMIC SURGERY for research in the area of Pancreas Cancer, with the hope of arriving, in the not-too distant future, at finding a cure to the abominable disease called cancer...

All reports we received last night from the dinner attendees indicate a great time had by all...

One-minute silence was observed in honour of late Pope Francis..

Thanks to everyone that contributed to last night's success...

NB: Pleased to announce that the AMCN first prize (Diamond Pendant) donated thankfully by Patrick Nader Jewals was won by Elizabeth Elters.

أقام التجمع الماروني الأسترالي ليلة أمس عشاء ناجحا لجمع التبرعات في مطعم كونسيرتو الذي يملكه مارون شمعون في ضاحيةوينتورث بوينت في سدني.

كان أبرز ما في الليلة هو المحاضرة التي ألقاها حول السرطان المتحدث الضيف/ البروفيسور شربل ساندروسي ، مع تركيز خاص على سرطان البنكرياس ...

وكان قد ألقى رئيس التجمع ريمون أبي عراج كلمة مقتضبةرحب فيها ترحيبا حارا بجميع الحاضرين بمن في ذلك الضيوف السادة: البروفيسور ساندروسسي والسيدة ميرنا ساندروسي ، ريتشارد وجوانا عنداري ، جوليا فين نائب منطقة غرانفيل ورئيسة بلدية كمبرلاند عُلا حامد.
كما وشكر جميع المانحين لجوائز السحب: باتريك نادر ، سفريات 2000 ، بيتر وجو سليمان وكميل بطي.

واغتنم ريمون الفرصة أيضًا لإطلاع الضيوف على كيفية تطور AMCN قبل تسع سنوات ، من دائرة صغيرة من الأصدقاء الحميمين إلى الشبكة الحالية التي تعمل بجد وامست قادرة على مساعدة المحتاجين والمؤسسات التي تقدم فوائد للبشرية ولمجتمعنا على وجه الخصوص ...

قبل انتهاء الامسية ، وفي حضور أعضاء مجلس الإدارة ، قام الرئيس أبي عراج نيابة عن AMCN بتسليم البروفيسور ساندروسي شيكا بقيمة 12000 دولار إلى معهد الجراحة الأكاديمية التابعة ل RPA للبحوث في مجال السرطان وبخاصة سرطان البنكرياس ...

وأشارت جميع التقارير التي تلقيناها الليلة الماضية من الحاضرين إلى عشاء ممتع ومفيد للبشرية ...

ونهاية، كان هناك دقيقة صمت واحدة تكريما للبابا فرانسيس الراحل ..

HEAD OF THE MARONITE CHURCH HAD A FALL

During the Easter Solemn mass yesterday in presence of President Joseph Aoun, his beatitude Bechara Raii had a fall and broke his hip. He was rushed to hospital where he underwent a successful surgery and he is now recovering in hospital..

Today, President Aoun paid him a visit to enquire about his health..

AMCN prays that our dear Patriarch will soon have a full and speedy recovery in order to resume his leadership of our dear Maronite Church..

AMCN التجمع الماروني stages its first annual Backgammon competition 2025..

And the winner is: George Hanna and first runner-up: Eliane Hanna...

The Backgammon champion George Hanna received a golden cup with a Backgammon table and the second champion Eliane received a Backgammon table at the conclusion of the fierce competition held earlier tonight in a private room thankfully allocated to AMCN by Glenn, the manager of Strathfield Golf Club...

We thank the participants: Eliane Hanna, Jason Gittany, Anthony Sukari, Tony Maroun, George Hanna, Clovis Batti, Fahd Gittany and Raymond Abi-Arraj...with Ghassan Awit being an observer and a rotating umpire...

It was a fun night enjoyed by all.

We send our sincere apologies to the friends who were unable to enter the comp. this year, given this year that the number was limited in order to finish the competition in one night...

On the eve of St Maroun’s Feast Day, AMCN Board members and their lovely wives got together earlier tonight over a delicious monthly dinner at the Concerto in WentworthPoint.

It was an opportunity to sample the exotic food awaiting us at the AMCN Fundraising Dinner scheduled for Wednesday the 23rd of April at the same Restaurant ...

Details will be published and circulated in due course....

The funds raised will go towards supporting the Pancreatic Cancer research program carried out by RPA hospital's Institute of Academic Surgery (IAS)....and we will be honoured by the presence of Assoc. Prof Charbel Sandroussi who will brief the diners on the night about this important Institute...

On behalf of the Australian Maronite Community Network (AMCN) (التجمع الماروني الأسترالي) we extend to you, and to the Lebanese people, our sincere congratulations on your election as President of the Lebanese Republic.

This historic event heralds a new dawn for Lebanon and forecasts a bright future for the Lebanese people who have suffered from the malpractices of its politicians for a very long time...

Your oath speech, following your election in parliament last Thursday, comes to confirm to everyone that the reform phase has begun, led by a man who firmly believes in justice, and in bringing back glory, hope and prosperity to our homeland..in order to resume its leading role in the Middle East and beyond..

St Raymond's church ( 37-39 Wellington Rd, Auburn NSW 2144, Australia) will be open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (21, 22 and 23 of November 2024) from 1 PM to midnight and Sunday 24 of November, 2024 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm for anyone who would like to visit and see this masterpiece and light a candle and pray for 🇱🇧 in the presence of the first class relics of St Raymond.
