well this blew up my personal insta DMs today because apparently it’s made everyone laugh and smile so I thought I’d spread that joy over here too!

this is literally the reality of being a content creator. the few seconds of video you see has actually been hours worth of outtakes, bloopers, mental breakdowns, editing and copy writing and finally posting… and as someone who hates being in front of the camera, oh we’re in it for the long haul 🙃

a lot of people assume content is “easy” or “shouldn’t take too much time” or “shouldn’t cost that much money” but in reality, if you’re someone who regards your work and reputation highly, it’s a long old process to achieve somewhat *perfection*

anyway, I will resume to weddings from tomorrow as I have no business here showing my face on my grid twice in two days after being pretty much incognito since I started. have a nice evening all!

Now wedding season has cooled off I’m going to dedicate more time into creating a series that will give couples who are in their wedding planning stage advice from someone who *quite literally* spends half of their life attending weddings!

and my number one piece of advice would be this… *less is more*. weddings that aren’t packed with the latest trends or ideas are no less fun than those that are. In fact, they’re much more enjoyable for the couple and cause far less delays!

Social media is an incredible tool to help with your wedding planning journey and can offer so much free advice, tips, tricks and information, but it’s also driving us to lose sight of what a wedding day is and causing a schedule that is so overwhelming, that I’m starting to see clients not enjoy their day at all.

Let this be a reminder to keep the day as true to you as possible, and don’t let social media fool you into adding more unnecessary things (if you don’t truly want them) into a day that is already going to be so special with or without it!

it’s such a special moment for brides experiencing a first look with her father or bridesmaids that we overlook the opportunity for the groom to recreate the same moments with those closest to them, especially the mother of the groom. for mum, this is a beautiful way for her to see her little boy, all grown up and ready for one of the biggest days of his life and I’m so grateful to have captured this moment for Jake and his mum!

sometimes steering away from tradition to create even more precious memories on your wedding day is one of the best things you can do! 🖤
