We all start somewhere… Share your old studio setups! 🔽

Found this old picture of my studio circa 2005… Notice the speaker placement. This was not due to some elaborate plan to eliminate standing waves… Or lack of knowledge. Thomann had simply forgot to send the correct nuts and bolts for the second monitor stand 🤣

Studio consisted of a pair of Samson Resolve 65A speakers (that I gifted to fans not that long ago!), a mini-PC, Yamaha mixer, ESI sound card (yes it was a literal card, not an audio interface!). And an M-Audio midi keyboard (that can be seen in old videos of mine, later gifted to charity).

It is cool that things hold up so well over time! My old computer still works!

The synths I used back then (not in picture) was: RM1X, D50 and a DX100. Not that I could program the DX100. And a Korg Micro X.

I mostly made music in the box, and 2000-2010 was probably my most productive time in music. Did everything from mixing, mastering to live audio and released a lot of music. Some of it wasn’t half bad!

Yesterday we hosted the last Synth & Coffee meetup for this season. It was a blast!

Carbon Based Lifeforms held a presentation about their approach to playing live.

I was part of a Superbooth panel talking about our experience from the event.

And of course we jammed together!
