Nearly two years later and this video has almost earned enough to cover the cost of the actual knife I bought, which was about $130. It's one of my most viewed videos.

As a small YouTuber, I made $43.87 across the channel this past month. That's not bad considering it's all from content that I had on the channel for years. I haven't produced anything new (barring YouTube Shorts) in over 6 months but I have some stuff I want to get out once I have time to edit them.

The advice I give every traveller to Japan is don't visit in summer (September still counts as summer in Japan in my eyes). The heat and near 100% humidity is the worst. Plus it's typhoon season and the rainy season is June-July.

The best months to visit are October to May. Winter gets very cold but it's better than getting drenched in sweat as soon as you step outside.

Vegan food isn't easy to find in Japan, so it's always nice to come by. Even though I'm not vegan, I really appreciate a tasty vegan meal every now and then. They're super healthy and make you feel great both physically and ethically.

This is the Buddha Bowl from Optimus Cafe in Kitahama, Osaka. It was absolutely delicious!

For ¥1,350 it comes with brown rice, green salad, shimeji mushrooms, pickled carrots, cabbage, corn fritter, hummus and tofu fritters.

The vibe is like any industrial city cafe you'd find back home in Australia but you also get a beautiful river view. Highly recommended!
