In Better Call Saul, director Vince Gilligan used black and white for all scenes set after Breaking Bad to help viewers easily distinguish and follow the timeline, while past events were shown in color.
In the scene where Saul realizes that his past has been exposed to the old woman, he looks at the laptop and sees one of his promotional ads as a lawyer. The ad’s reflection appears on his glasses.
Due to the meticulous attention to detail and the high-quality directing, the production team ensured that the reflection of the ad on Saul's glasses remained in color since it represents a past event.
The more you focus on details, the more valuable your work becomes.
